Borrowing and lending
Do you loan allot of things out to family and friends, tools, clothes, money, your car? Do you ever have a problem saying "no"....have you ever regretted much loaning money or things out?
Has borrowing and loaning ever caused you grief? Has borrowing or loaning money ever ruined a friendship or relationship?
Have you ever borrowed something, and it broke or got harmed or ruined?
Do things you loan ever come back in worse condition than they left you?

Re: Borrowing and lending
"Never a lender or a borrower be".....now, that's a good motto, I just wish I could stick to it!! That way I would still be in possession of a highly sentimental valued bracelet that my sister lost.
I also have a friend that owes me some cash for nearly a year now - and I just feal really uncomfortable about mentioning it.
It's time i toughened up I guess.

It's the old story some people mistake kindness for weakness

I'm sure we will run a mile next time we see a friend coming our way with an empty purse, libs

Re: Borrowing and lending
I am more a lender than a borrower..hate asking someone to borrow something of theirs....I quess I am too trustworthy.

Re: Borrowing and lending
I try to be a good neighbor, friend, and big brother. But..Unless something is offered to be I don't borrow anything. Because if it's gonna break, it'll break when I use it,and the way I was raised you break it you replace it. Lending? If I don't get it back within a reasonable time I have no problem of going and getting it. And they don't get on my no borrow list. Money, no way, no how but I will give you a way to earn it, I gots plenty to do..

Re: Borrowing and lending
I rarely borrow out money, I need what I have. But I guess that I borrow out lots of tools. The kids just walk into the garage, and my tools end up gone. I still have no idea were some of the stuff has gone to. Both of the kids say the other borrowed it. I have to keep my real good tools locked up in my tool boxes. I guess the next thing to do is lock the whole garage up.

Re: Borrowing and lending
I never borrow anything anymore. If I need something I either rent it or buy it. If I loan someone money. I always count it as I could afford to give it. So, if they pay you back great. If not, I don't feel uncomfortable seeing them or talking to them.

Re: Borrowing and lending
There have been many times I've looked for something around the house, usually tools and such, then remember I loaned it to my brother-in-law ages ago, so I call him, and he's had it so long, he doesn't remember where he put it...I go buy another one, and when he finally calls and says he found it, I just tell him to keep it...got a new one anyway!
