CHUBBY CHECKER - Old entertainers
Anyone ever go to a show by old entertainers, not expecting much and been blown away by the performance.
They have a festival here this weekend and last night CHUBBY CHECKER was the main act. Didn't expect much but wow , what a show. He is 75 years old and was on stage for 1 1/2 hrs. Didn't look 75 and voice hasn't changed. He brought people on stage to dance most of the night. it really was a fun show. Young and old, amazing how many young kids were there really getting into the music. Some old stuff never dies.

Chubby Checker..that brings back memories. When I was a teenager..(when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I was sad when they all died.) 
There was a club where I use to live called Club Nightingale and Chubby Checker was playing. Next door was a ice house where dry ice was sold. Several of my friends and I sat on the well house and watched the show.
I had the pleasure many years later to see him and Jerry Lee Lewis in person.

I've seen Chubby too! My dear and favorite Uncle took me once to let me experience the music of his era....Chubby, Bill Halely and the Comets, and of course...Chuck Berry!

i lived in St Joseph,Mo. in 1983 and got tickets to see the late Roger Miller concert. there were only about 150 ppl there (the Statler Brothers were playing the next night) and you could sense his disappointment,but he put on one HELL of a show !!! in my younger days i used to sing his music (badly..lol)and , for me, it was the best concert ever !!!!!!!

I once took my mam to see Neil Diamond, I entered the arena with a bit of a heavy heart, but I was soon crooning and swaying with the rest of 'em..lol!
I have free tickets to see Elton John, next July..Not really keen on him either.

Over 20 years ago I got free tickets for Sammy Davis Jt. I liked him but didn't think he would be good as a solo act. Boy was I wrong. He was fabulous

I went to a car show in Kissimmee Florida a long time ago. "Old Town" is what they called it. Biggest car show I've ever seen! Wolfman Jack hosted the concert... there was Gene Chandler, The Shangri-Las, The Chambers Brothers and some more I can't remember. It was one of my most memorable times livin' in Florida.
