Sticking your head in the sand...
Okay, maybe I'm weird...
I like to keep up with the news, what's going on in the world and all that, but somedays...geez...I just don't wanna know,....dolphins in japan, baby Grace, missing wives and mothers...I just don't wanna know right now...maybe later I'll catch up...but just not right now...
Do you ever have spells where you'll deal with it, but just not now?

Re: Sticking your head in the sand...
Yeah that happens a lot with me. I know the war is still going on, I know there have been car accidents all over, I know that I should be writing my congresswoman --- but come on -- somedays I just need to focus on me and mine. If all I get done that day is show up to work I feel like I accomplished something.

Re: Sticking your head in the sand...
It is just hard to take sometimes, I know our good people are dying in a foreign land, it just seems too morbid to tune in and hear the day's fatality count.
Sometimes I just read the news on the intenet, the headlines can be enough...I don't want to read the "full story" or see the vid.

Re: Sticking your head in the sand...
I have a lot of these spells. Most days the news and headlines are all doom and gloom and very depressing. Many a time I go all out to avoid them.
The front page photograph, in my local newspaper today, shows Paula Radcliffe holding her 10 month old daughter in New York....very refreshing.
