how old is too old?
now that it's halloween...
when the trick-r-treaters start knockin' on your door?
do you give candy, or do you not answer the door?
if you answer the door, and it's a bunch of teenagers being rude and demanding candy..do you give them any? if so, do you give as much as the little ones get?
a couple of years ago, i stayed home and passed out candy.
there was about 75 kids that came knocking on my door.
i had a group of 16 year olds telling me "we know you gots the goodies, start passing 'em out"..i gave them left over easter candy...

Re: how old is too old?
We definately answer the door, can't take the little ones out and not expect to give a little in return. Although, we only go to six houses on our street where we know the neighbors really well.
The little ones get the good stuff and more of it, the big ones get the semi good stuff and less of it. I say when they are as tall as me...and I'm tall, it is time to hang up the costumes.

Re: how old is too old?
Maybe your getting too old to Trick-or-Treat if:
You get winded from knocking on the door.
You have to have another kid chew the candy for you.
You ask for high fibre candy only.
When someone drops a candy bar in your bag, you lose your balance and fall over.
People say, "What a scary mask!" but you're not wearing a mask!
When the door opens you yell, "Trick ....." and can't remember the rest.
By the end of the night, you have a bag full of restraining orders.
You have to carefully choose a costume that won't dislodge your hairpiece.
You're the only Power Ranger in the neighbourhood with a walker.
You avoid going to the houses where your ex-wives/husbands live.

Re: how old is too old?
Where my house is, just not practical for the door to door trick-or-treaters and the local communities have started up a thing I think is called "trunk-or-treats"...they designate a main street area where people line up in thier cars and dole it out from the trunks...it is safer for the kids, well lit, highly supervised...maybe it's just a sad sign of the times here in rural Missouri, where the Devlin case has just wrapped up and the horrors of victims like Ownsby and Hornbeck are still fresh in our minds, as all of our missing children are.

Re: how old is too old?
It's a sad commentary. When I was a kid "of course we're talking Pre-historic times" LOL. We went out for hours, un supervised. I'd bring home a shopping bag full. I guess times they are a changing
