Art Website Music Soundtrack...Advice Needed
A request for help from my brothers and sisters
here, within the Webnaughty Republic,I do now make.
I am launching a site that will warehouse quite a bit of my visual still-work.I just had a conversation with the webmaster designing the site.I am compartmentalizing the site into themes
and moods that enhance the varied imagery.I have
a pretty ecclectic array of music in mind.I need your input on something.I want one of the three groups listed below to represent a particular time period of imagery.Which group stands out in your mind as being superior, and why:
1.Doobie Brothers
2.Steely Dan
3.Eagles
I have already chosen;Marvin Gaye,The Who,Doors,
Stevie Wonder,Starship/Airplane,Emerson-Lake and
Palmer,Earth Wind and Fire,Jackson Browne,The Temptations,Journey(Steve Perry Journey),Pink Floyd,Barry White...more.
Let me know about the three groups in Question, please.I trust the thoughts of quite a few of you good people.
Peace and Blessings,
Artful1

Re: Art Website Music Soundtrack...Advice Needed
They all stand out but when I look at those names and think of 'art', Steely Dan stands out the most.
Good luck with it!

I like the Eagles, maybe not very "arty" but definately suits my mood a lot of the time.
I do hope that you would include some of their newer song from The Hell Freezes Over album....IMHO, it is some of their best work ever. And if the Tickets hadn't cost the earth, I'd have loved to have gone to see them.
No matter what you include Artful, I will come and see and enjoy, as much for the music as for the art, some of those are my favorite artists.

Re: Art Website Music Soundtrack...Advice Needed
if you must use one of the 3 bands listed, then I would choose steely dan... If I was doing the project, I would use Mozart.

I know, my post have been absent latley but I'm still hanging around. Talk about music and the 70's, hey, I've got to put my 2 cents in.
My Favorite all time group is The Eagles, I would have to say they where the #1 inspiration for my playing guitar. If you are looking to date the images specifically to the 70's then the Doobie Brothers may be a better choice as their music always brings back memories of that time.
Art, for any sexual images I'd like to suggest Jewel! Her voice and style melts me evertime I hear her.

VERY off topic but sun would it be impossible for a guy to learn guitar if he has absolutely NO musical knowledge what so ever? i mean would it be a monumental task??

Anything is possible! I have no real talent, it takes a lot of practice and determination for me. If I can learn, anybody can.
