The Sociology of Chickens....
Well yes, I use to raise chickens, had me a fine flock too!
Any chicken farmer will tell ya...
"A flock of hens with no roosters and they will get along fine, but....a flock of roosters and no hens and the roosters will go mad and mean"
Applying this to humans, do you think a community of only women would survive and fare better than a community of nothing but men?

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
No way would a society of all women could survive. Way too much PMS.
Now a society of all men could actually survive. The only competition would be to see who could build it bigger than the next guy.

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
Could be fun to start with, and it would be a clean well thought out place to live, but then the bitchin would start and there's nothing worse then a bunch of woman together!!!

Okay, ya know...I think some men may use the olde "Must be PMS" as a crutch for their cluelessness about what they did to actually earn our bit of rage....

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
women are bitchier and nastier than men. women fight and argue over pathetic issues, whereas men wont even bother to discuss them.
a load of women on an island.....my idea of pure hell. must have a cock or two to even up the balance!! lol

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
lmao.. its true. women not only fight with each other over minor things but they never forget it either... for the rest of their life the other girl involved will be "that bitch"... guys punch each other and end up best friends.
now let me go pee on the toilet seat before i finish this post.

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
I could never figure that out. Men have an argument, like you said a punch or whatever and they are over it and buying each other beers the next night. I don't think I have ever met a woman who will let it go. I don't get it. I guess the old men are from mars , women are from Venus applies and thank goodness for the difference, where would we be without them

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
May I mention there is a common joke among women...PMS does not stand for Pre Menstrual Syndrome, it stand sof Puttin'up w/ Men's Shit...as I said, it is a joke...let no one be offended by it. However, it does explain a great deal!

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
I'd prefer to not work in an environment of only women, there should be a balance of testostone AND estrogen. Women tend to be snide, nasty, and cliqueish. I have many wonderful friends, a number of them are from childhood because instead of being wicked to each other we decided early on to spend our time encouraging each other to excel. We have been there for each other through just about everything...marriages, divorces, births and deaths. The key thing we have with each other is laughter and honestly sprinkled with respect and true love for each other.
There is so little room in life to be sniping and holding grudges, normally when that happens it has so much to do with not knowing the other person. I think people usually are ugly because of something they lack from within, not something the other has done, it is usually based out of jealousy and self-loathing.
Men would survive better on an island alone, but they would definately be wishing for a little hen in that cockhouse...LOL.

Re: The Sociology of Chickens....
Oh my...I would hope that I'm not the only one that happens to think that in general...women are wonderful, benevolent, nurturing, beings and that a sisterhood "bonding" can be very strong.
I rarely run into the bitchy, snipey, petty types...and I'm counting my blessings!
I also think all men in a community would do farely well, up untill all the dishes were dirty and there were no more clean socks and shirts...

Perhaps I'm a bit jaded because of the "Mean Girls" we've come across in my daughter's life already. I don't have a problem with the women in my life but I don't keep the nasty ones around for long. I don't think all women are like that but on the whole, I think it would be hard to be in a community of only women, I see less men in the business world holding grudges and more women becoming exasperated very easily with their female counterparts.
