what makes you happy?
Ok, so this is not exactly an original question... but I ran into it today, so thought I'd poll the general public.
I'm talking about the sillie superficial stuff... we all know that family, friends, loved ones, sunsets, rainstorms, and puppies can make us happy. But what about the day-to-day stuff that others might not appreciate?
Here's one that's completely superficial but perfectly practical in my book... A few months ago I switched from a very old version of Quicken to the latest one, and my checkbook has been out-of-control since then. I HATE that. But in the last few weeks, I managed to reorganize my expenses, pay off some old bills, buy a LOVELY new car (ooohhh!!!), book a ticket home for the holidays, and treat myself to some quality time with a very good friend. And today I balanced my accounts, to the PENNY... That means something to me! Hey, I may be in the red, but at least I know exactly how far!!! LOL
Any wonder I'm smiling?

being able to spend the whole evening just chilling out with a good (my best) friend....even if it's just through a IM chat...
SHE ALWAYS MAKES ME HAPPIE...!!!

There are so many things in my life that make me happy...
1) The laughter of my children...taking them someplace fun or just sitting on the sofa hanging out and randomly tickling them while they squeal and wiggle.
2) Having an awesome conversation with someone
3) Hanging out with my girlfriends
4) Acts of kindness that are given from my heart (without need of reciprocation) and the people in my life knowing they are loved.

Those random acts of kindness, like getting to the door before the next person, so you hold the door for them. Just smiling at the person you just passed. Giving someone that extra penny, nickel or what ever when they are searching for it and not finding it. Just saying " HI " to a complete stranger, followed up with a nice smile.

being alone on a moutain top as the sun rises or sets! the peaceful sounds and scents of these times arouses me to the point of complete euphoria, and this makes me happy!
