Re: All things Halloween!
The movie "Halloween".....yeah I know there's a remake of it, but sometimes the original is just classic dammit...
Jamie Lee Curtis's version will always be a favortite of mine.
As for pranks, way back when I was a kid, my friends and I stole an outhouse and then placed in the middle of the four way stop in town....it was such a small town, there was only one four way stop with a traffic light...it became tradition and now every year, local kids carry on....

Re: All things Halloween!
Halloween has got to be my most favorite holiday. The costumes, the parties, the pranks
Then there's the traditional things, like witches, vampires, and ghosts. I like watching and telling all the ghost stories, and things that go bump in the night. I usually spend the whole year planning pranks just for one night.

Re: All things Halloween!
With little ones in the house, I have to admit the costume selection is wonderful, their imaginations get going and it is so much fun.
As teenagers we used to have water balloon and egging fights in our neighborhood. One night the police were looking for some of the boys that had dozens of eggs, they came to our house to hide out and brought their eggs in to "hide the evidence." My mom pulled out the frying pan and started cooking up eggs and bacon. By the time the police found all the boys cars at our house the evidence had disappeared.
I love those Brach's Mellocreme pumpkins!!! Yummy!

Re: All things Halloween!
Anyone here that knows me well enough knows that I just LOOOOOOOOOOVE Halloween!!!!
I never really got into the "prank" thing, though. I just love decorating and seeing the looks on the kid's faces when they come to the door. One year, I wore a witch costume that you had to paint yourself and put the silicone pieces on individually. Scared the hell out of the smaller kids. Yes, I felt bad about that lol
These days, I do up the yard as best I can, open my window and put my puter speaker in it with some scary music playin'. This year I'm puttin' dry ice in the water fountain. I'll take the kiddos trick or treating then come home and hand out candy. I just wish Halloween would fall on a weekend some time soon!! The kiddos drive me crazy wanting to eat a lot of candy that night... it's a no no when they have school the next day *sigh*..... but not for me! hehe

Re: All things Halloween!
My favorite thing about Halloween has always been trick or treating.
Now that I'm a grown-up though, I love to decorate. One of these days, I will do the scary yard thing.
I'd love to hit Universal or Busch Gardens one year, but Universal is out this year. I can handle Jason, Freddy and Leatherface in the movies, but not in real life, lol.

I just love Television this time of year! So many stations start running their "haunting" shows.
I love history, and even if you one not to believe in a life after death, the historic part is just cool.

Re: All things Halloween!
It's such a cool show, for one they do their investigations in historic places and in ordinary households.
Even the episodes where they don't find anything are so fun to watch...the one segment that comes to my mind was when a family called in TAPS because they were certain a spirit was in their little boy's room, causing him to lose sleep.
What the team found was...the parents let this little boy play hours of video games right before bed....there was no ghost, the little boy was just wired up and strung out from gaming! Cute!!!
When they do find something substantial...it really makes you wonder...

Re: All things Halloween!
The thing I like most about the show is that they don't go in expecting anything. They try to help people by debunking what they can. They have debunked a lot of things... stuff due to headlights, reflections off mirrors, metal surfaces. But if they find something that they can't explain, they won't deny it.
On one episode there was a brother and sister sleeping on a bunk bed. The little girl had complained to her parents that she kept being woken up by a child ghost. They put a camera in the room and watched the brother wake up, go down the ladder, mess with his sister (i.e. tapping her on the shoulder, etc.), then crawl back in bed. A few seconds later the girl woke up scared and crying. Mystery solved!
On another episode, one of the main guys was kicked back on the couch holding a flashlight when he felt a slap on his hands and the flashlight went flying. These guys don't rattle easy but this spooked 'em.
Awesome show. You'll like it!

Re: All things Halloween!
Oh I remember the one with the two kids and the bunk beds!
The little boy was sleepwalking or something...
I like that too, that they try to debunk and disprove things first...that's what makes them stand out from other shows that use a bunch of "psychics".
The voices that TAPS picks up on recorders sometimes really creep me out (especially the episode where they investigated a fairly new house built less than 200 feet from where the horrid Manson murders took place.)

Re: All things Halloween!
TAPS - Bucksteep manor , they came up with no evidence but if you watched Girls said they threw a knife into hole in cellar and heard nothing fall. Taps said it fell on soft sand or insulation but they didn't look for or find knife. It should have been there , right ?

Smashing pumpkins (good band!) is one thing...but awww dammit...egging a car, that's just a stupid and juvenile thing to do...
Did it cause much damage? I've heard that egg is hell on a paint job.
