Forgive and Forget
How good are you at it?
Some can forgive, but they never ever forget.
Others, it's all just "Water off a duck's back" kinda thing.
When someone pisses you off, does it from that point on, affect your opinion of them, affect the way you interact with them, feel about them?

I always forgive but I never forget. And yes it does affect the way I feel towards that person/persons.

Agreed, easy to forgive, but it's always in back of your mind. Personally, I wouldn't give them a chance to screw up again. As they say , "screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me" non sexual that is

I get over things real quick, and yes I can forget, I've worked hard on learning to forgive quickly and forget.
From my experience bad behaviour rarely comes from bad people, but good people who are understress, dealing with deep personal demons, or just having a bad moment or bad day.

i am trying right now to forgive someone for stepping WAY out of bounds with me. it was such a shock that he would speak to me that way that its going to take a very long time...........................................

There are only a few people who have upset me in my life that i will never speak to again and hope i never see.
Most of the time i do just let things go. I will tell someone if they have upset me, but life's to short to stay too angry.

If someone hurts me big time, I'm afraid I am not of the forgiving nature. I have a heart as big as the world and would do anything for anyone and help anyone. But woe betide the person who kicks it back in my face.........sorry, thats just me...

Ah yes HBG...life is too short.
Life is a journey and I'll not carry any unneccesary baggage, I want to travel through life with a clear mind, light soul and open heart....grudges are just heavy bags of shit.

Maybe the ability to forgive depends on the "forgetting"
I mean we say we forgive someone, but everytime we see them or even hear their name we feel the same anger and resentment towards them, or cannot help but to snipe or sneer at them, then have we truly forgiven?
When I recall a time , that moment of time, I can recall in detail exactly what was said and/or done to piss me off or hurt me, but that memory doesn't carry all the emotions.

It depends on what was done. I can forgive but usually I don't forget. There is a couple times that things were done by people that I will never forget or forgive and they still are not welcome around me or my house. As they found out I can carry a grudge for a long time. But it has to be something serious for that to happen.

Same here.....I'm really laid back when it comes to it,and usually let things slide,life's too short.Only one person has truly hurt me enough that I will never forgive or forget. If I bumped into her tomorrow I would be pleasant enough but my behavior and opinion towards them has changed forever....

yes i can forgive someone and have many times but i stay alert the rest of the time while i am around that person. i have trusted many of people whom i thought were my best friend and then come to find out they were not whom they claimed to be. especially when it comes to a few men i have had in my life. oh how nice they are until you really get to know them then it is totally a different story.
