"Racy" commercials under fire
There are several TV commercials that are taking harsh criticism lately for being too racy or just in bad taste.
One is the Clearasil commercial where "Clearasil may cause confidence" and has a teen boy hitting on his friend's mother.
Another commercial is for Hardee's, I think...anyway it's an ad that has a female teacher doing some "sexy dancing" on her desk with a classroom full of teen boys rapping about "flat buns"
So...are we becoming too prudish and sensitive...or with the rise in reports of adults having illegal relationships with under aged teens and students...maybe we should look at the messages we are sending kids and adults?
I see the humor in these ads but I see the disturbing headlines too...I'm open on this one...did Van Halen get this kind of flack when they released "Hot for Teacher" ?

Actually in the US they are finally catching up with the rest of the world. Several commercials in Europe and Asia are very titillating and imply innuendo with nudity shown during daytime t.v

Oh, I so remember that Chazzy...one of my friends parents saw that video on MTV and there was a freaking uproar about it...
I do think we are sensitive but I think things of this nature don't belong in primetime because of the children that watch TV. The box at my house is rarely on in the evenings when the family is together and Disney is a staple at my house right now so as long as Mickey keeps his pants on for a while I think we are good.

We American's are way to up tight about sex and sexuality . We try to make everyone think we are the goody too shoes of the world, and we're not. We really need to loosen up a bit.

I think it's more about the same of the same....a sane ethical intelligent person will NOT engage in appropriate behavior with under aged persons, but some sick and mentally twisted adults will...and no media ads will change or cause that.
