Claim to fame...
Last week me and my sister were in a shopping centre, I spotted this woman browsing a book stall, I nudged my sis and said "Hey, ask her if she shot JR, she looks just like that drunken woman off Dallas" (her name had escaped me).
Well I must have said it louder than I realised, as she turned to face me, and laughed, in a tone that suggested "Omg..now,,,I never heard anyone say that before"..and it turned out it WAS her - Linda Gray..She is currently starring in a theatre play here in Northeast England...she chatted for a few minutes, and is a very nice lady..but oh boy,,,did i feel rather silly!!
Has anyone else ever bumped into or met a 'celeb'?
Three of my brother-in-laws appear as extras in the new stunning Kiera Knightley movie, Atonement, and i swear i will never get to hear the end of it, Lol !!

I saw the old wrestler, Rick Savage, at the DFW airport back in the day... got his autograph. A few of my brothers were extras in a movie... can't remember the name of it... They were in a crowd at a wedding... Never met any movie stars myself

Re: Claim to fame...
best i have is Charlie Daniels bus stopped at one of the local truck stops along the interstate while i was there. he (and others) came in like normal people do while the bus got topped off. i think most in the store knew exactly who he was (being it said it in big letters right on the side of the bus LOL) but i dont remember anyone even asking for an autograph.
i dont know.. i just dont get the whole star struck thing. just another person doing their thing.

Re: Claim to fame...
I've actually booked a few celebs for events I've planned, most of them are pretty self absorbed, I found the less famous they were the more awful they were. I met Troy Aikman once in a bar in Florida and he and some of his buddies helped keep me out of a little scrape with the Orlando PD...did you know it was not acceptable to stand up on a table and yell a drink order to the bartender? Evidently not...LOL...well, being a fellow Texan, Mr. Aikman came to my aid...the next morning we were on the same flight and he just smiled and said, "How ya feelin' today?" All I can say is if I hadn't been a married woman ...I would have screamed "Ride me cowboy."
Disclaimer...this is a response from a woman that has had a very stressful day and two glasses of wine!!!

I stayed at the same hotel with Leonard Skynnard. Got to visit quite a bit with the people that were traveling with him and when me and some friends were at the bar that evening Leonard walked past us. We all said hi to him and he said hi back.

My granny was a very good friend of Eartha Kitt from way back. They met over here in England When she performed at a theatre and hit it off straigh away. I met her when i was little. They used to write each other all the time for many years until my granny died. We have lost touch now but it would nice to know if she ever thinks about us.

Re: Claim to fame...
used to work in a few bars not far from the Michigan state fair grounds. Segar, T.G Shepard, Wallon Jennings, Willie, Bobby Bear (hammered) Mitch Rider and others. They would come in after performances or some came by to do benefits for kids. Only one I didn't care for was bear, drunk like a skunk. rest were very laid back. specially Segar and Wallon. Segar lived in the area and used to stop in from time to time with his wife. Didn't know it was him first time.

Re: Claim to fame...
I was in Hollywood about 10 years ago shopping on Rodeo drive (trying to find the lowest price item and say I bought it there ) Coming out of Cartier was Courtney Cox (Monica on Friends) . I got her autograph and my wife got complimented on the outfit she was wearing. I don't know what perfume she was wearing, but she smelled incredible.

Photos and video don't do justice to how blue her eyes really are. Gives a whole new appreciation on the show
