The King
Hard to believe that it's 30 years ago today since Elvis Presley passed away.

I personally have never been a great lover of his music, but there is no disputing he was one very handsome guy!

Any big fans in the house?

Re: The King
My mom was a HUGE fan.... she passed it down to one of my brothers. He has way too much Elvis stuff!

He was great, there's no disputing that.

Re: The King
he wasnt called "the King" without reason. i watched his first-ever tv appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, and it was apparent even back in the 50s that he was someone with enormous talent and charisma. still enjoy almost all of his music and movies.....

Re: The King
I like his music, but not a huge fan of it...I am a huge fan of historical things...and his life was historical.

Re: The King
i can't say anything bad about elvis at all, to me he is a great singer and by great evan now the music he recorded still goes with today sound the 70's mainly, he was so good in vegas and in the hawaii special in 1973, i just can't put him down he was a great singer and did have a style of his own and the way he looked in the jumpsuits that weighed 80 lbs all alone, i mean alot of them jumpsuits had to weigh like they said 80lbs just hanging , and he really could sing about any song you could give him , or ask him to sing, i just wish the man had been here longer, i reall do think he would have had alot more songs to record, and the thing is they keep finding more and nore that were never released, the year he passed away he did sing some great songs way down and moody blue he had some more to record new ones that he never sang before, no i just will always like to hear him sing, i never did put him down , evan the other groups and singers culd not put him down if you could just hear the good things they all said about him when he died, they said alot of us took him for granted and we did, but he always sold out, and had a fuul house, never did he do a concert no one liked or a concert on tv evan his last concert that was in 4 differant parts from his last 4 concerts, the real one has never been seen , but will one day, but he still had that powerfull voice, i never heard anyone reach that high note and notes like he could and don't think there will ever be another like him, i can't knock someone who made millions and gave most of it all away, what a man, if you never lived in his lifetime you missed something, i remember that first special on tv on sunday night back in 1968, and followed him all the way to the end but he has never ended still doing a concert every year with the same group that was with him in the 70's, and some all his career, he had a gift, and used it well, have to say thanks to elvis

Re: The King
have to add i am a fan and always will be, when i stated his last concert was never seen i made a mistake parts of it was the one they showed on the special after his death was from cuts from 4 of his last concerts, the one you seen and myseld was cut they did not show the whole real concert, i know alot of people that went ans said it was nothing like they showed on tv, and the songs were not the same, and he looked differant in differant scenes, they wanted to show the fans something and they just pieced his last for together about 12 0r 13 minutes from eaxch concert i heard that they ma y realease the real whole concert one day, i hope so i would like to see the whole concert i thought for as sick as he was he did a fantastic job, he just had a poor manager, who took 50% of everything he made, elvis did not want to do anymore concerts for a while he was sick and worn out , but that parker kept him going to much and i would have had to have pills to if i had to work like that man did, i am not shy to say i liked elvis and his music and style, and always will, mike

Re: The King
Oh, how my step-mom was such a fan.
I remember watching his Hawaii concert on the tele. Live from Hawaii!
It was great. He truly had some fantastic songs. And I remember exactly what I was doing when I first heard of his passing.
Long live the King!
