Leopard spots
You know what they say...a leopard never changes it's spots.
But...do people really change? Have you ever changed yourself for someone else, or because of a milestone, a trauma, or one of those life altering experiences?
Have you ever tried to change someone?
I feel like that my "core" has always been a constant, that I have always have and always be the same person but my open mind allows my heart to decide on what and when I need to change things about myself.
How do you feel about it?
Have you ever tried to compromise your "core" and change for someone? Has someone tried to change for you?

Re: Leopard spots
Not very sure about the changing thing, but I've tried every spot remover I could find on the lepords, and they still have spots.

Re: Leopard spots
well, i tried changing for my ex-wife...but it didn't do any good...and that experience seems to have changed me a little bit...but, if you are willing to change your habits to please someone...then they should be willing to change themselves a little bit too...

That's the key phrase right there. I've seen it happen. It's not a complete change.... the changes are sometimes few, sometimes many. I think it depends on the situations that happen in a person's life.

Re: Leopard spots
Who I am internally hasn't changed...life changes you, I believe we should evolve as human beings, if the highlights and low lights of our life didn't change us, make us be introspective they would have no purpose...I embrace the good and the bad in life because I'm happy with who I am. I'm certainly not perfect, I'm just happy to be who I am, perfection is about perception...

Well said, I'm a firm believer in the saying 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' and hopefully a little bit wiser.

Re: Leopard spots
I don't think a leopard can change its spots, just as a tiger cannot change it's stripes.
If a partner wanted me to change any of my ways for them, then that wouldn't be 'me', so therefore, I am not the right person for them.

Re: Leopard spots
Changes that you make don't have to be extreme or for anyone other than yourself. My sister, brothers and I were never the type to say how we feel or express love towards one another. A major loss in our lives changed that. Now we say "I love you" every time we talk on the phone or leave from a get together .
Simple things that are taken for granted. Those are the changes I'm talking about....

The last few years of my life are certainly testimony to the "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" quote...I just wonder sometimes why it all has to happen at one time...

Re: Leopard spots
My sister always married someone because he was just what she had been looking for. After the marriage she would try to change everything about them. Starting with the job they have had for 15+ years. You thing this could be why she has been married 8 times.
