Addiction and substance abuse...SUCKS!
I just sat down to catch a little news, something I haven't been able to do the last day or two, and bam...there it is...Lindsey Lohan arrested for DUI and cocaine possesion just days after leaving re-hab.
Geezus..They are "regular folks" facing the demons of addiction everyday with no hope of ever getting the extensive and quaility re-hab that they and their families desperately need and want.
What's really hard for me to understand is that these celebs can well afford to pay for cab rides or private cars and drivers...or just party at freakin' home, have anything they want rushed to their doorstep with a quick phone call, they could just party themselves into a coma, party till they choke on their own puke...but they keep getting behind the fucking wheel...

What i don't get is, they want this famous lifestyle and then they can't handle it and turn to drugs and drink. For f..k sake grow up and get a grip. So many people struggle, and go through some terrible things in their lives and don't behave like that. They have no worries and could have a great life, help others and enjoy what they have, but NO, these people have to put other lives at risk, people like her make me sick.

More of the story from the arresting police department..Miss Lohan was drunk on her ass, behind the wheel (gulp) chasing someone! She was actually in a car chase with the mother of her assistant that had just quit!
I guess these people get so drunk...they are freakin' out of their head and delusional to think for even a second, it's fine for them to drive.
I would love to see Lohan and Hilton salvage their lives, Lohan is so young, just turned 21 and I hear she is an exceptional actress...but if they insist on killling themselves with excessive substance abuse...I just wish they'd stay the hell off the road!
(A&E channel..excellent show called "Intervention"...it's gut wrenching to watch, but you really get a clear idea of what addicts of all kinds and their families go through)

I am glad I used all the hard drugs up when I was young...they bore me now, and I am WAY to concerned with my health and future, (now that I am an old fucker)...I have a lot of friends that still party all the time...they have no jobs, no REAL friends, no love, no sex, no anything...I am still trying to figure out what the "party" is for?

Its very sad to know that someone with such promise, is doing nothing but throwing her life away. Unfortunately, most of those who are going through substance abuse, only see with tunnel vision. They cannot see the bigger picture of what it is that they are doing to themselves, their families, and friends. Its so sad. They will have to hit rock bottom before they realize what they have done. Only then can they begin to rebuild themselves and their lives.

It is painful to see and hear Miss Lohan's statements of pure denial..."I'm innocent" "The cocaine wasn't mine"
But hope maybe found in her parents statements. that they accept that their daughter has a problem and they really want harsher re-hab and/or jail time for her if it will save her life and possible the lives of innocent victims.
For anyone that mistook our previous Paris comments as gossip mongering instead of a discussion of social issues, I would hope that the point would be clearer now, it's this chain reaction of publicity starting with Paris, and Lindsey right behind her, that is making it clear that the public does feel that drunk driving is totally unaceptable for anyone and measurse need to be taken, harsher views and laws are definitly needed right now!

I agree with you Mark and to take it a little further. I have friends that still party at the grave sites of friends that have been killed due to these same addictions.
I really can't figure that one out to this day

in all truthfullness, i've never done any sort of illegal substances, believe it or not...but i know a few guys who can't seem to stop abusing...and then they wonder why they are stuck working at McDonald's for minimum wage...

I did not work at McDonald's!..It was Burger King, and they fired me getting the assistant manger high b-4 our shift...
