The Budget.
How much effort do you put into your household shopping?
Do you review the sale ads, stock up on sale items, clip and use coupons, Do you buy in bulk?
Or do ya just throw what you need in the cart and accept the total as cost of living?

Re: The Budget.
I have to be very frugal! I check out the ads in the Sunday paper, clip coupons, go to Sam's on occasion. You have to be careful, though. Check out the prices on things at the regular grocery store before you go there. Do the math. Sometimes the better deal is NOT in bulk!
There are times when I just throw shit in the cart and not worry about the cost. But that usually happens only once a month and it's usually lots of chocolate!!

Re: The Budget.
When our boys were younger we started buying in bulk at Aldi's. 3 growing boys can eat so much! We had 5 people to buy for then so I guess now that we only have 4 here I'm still in that mode. lol We have a local store in town that has 10 lb meat sales once a month. When they have that sale we stock up for the month. I don't clip coupons, but I do look for sales. You know what amazes me is when our boys were all at home we would only spend around $60.00 a week. Now it is way more than that! Amazing how things have gone up and keep going up!

If I shop online, I get a bit 'click happy', it's amazing
how much unnecessary shit gets chucked in my cart.

Oh that happens if I send my hubs to the store by himself! Might as well throw the budget out the window when he goes by himself. I hate shopping so I only go when I have to. The standing joke in our house when hubs goes to the store by himself is that our son and I have a bet on how many things he will come home with that he wasn't going for.

Re: The Budget.
I guess I am the shopper in my house. I'll sometimes go to the stores just to see what's there then watch and compare. I'll compare prices and hunt for the best bargain. It don't make any difference what, it's like a game to see how cheap I can pay for items
