So close..
Any memorable times when you almost had something you wanted...almost, close but no cigar, slipped right through your fingers...like having a lottery ticket with most of the called numbers, a deal that seemed sure, but fell through at the last minute, or if only you had been in the right place at the right time, a minuter sooner...or later? Anything at all like that...

Speaking of lottery....I went to go get my ticket one weekend, certain set of numbers I'd been playing for a while.
As I am on the way out the door, Warren asks me to play his instead...so I did...checked 'em the next day and dangit, if I'd played mine, I'd have had 5 of 6! None on his...that was the last time he asked me to change them, lol, but never been so close again....*sigh*

I was playing the slots, I just knew that this machine was going to pay. Was about 100 up, so I said I'm not going to put the 100 back in the machine, so I left. Didn't get but 20 feet away, when someone put money into the machine I was at, and B-I-N-G-O. He won 1,200.

I know VB. Now you know the story of my life. Always a day late and a dollar short. Easy come easy go. But I looked at it like this, I was up 100, and that was more than enough to cover dinner for the night. Oh yea, Ma was up about 20 also.
