Rainy Days and Mondays...
Texas seems to be the new Seattle...we have had more rain this year (thankfully no drought) but it is starting to wear on me...how do people stay happy in a perpetual state of stormy skies?
What do you do to get you out of the blues?

I take a short walk or go play in the rain, sure the neighbors think I'm nuts but...they've done plenty to make me wonder about them too!

Storms are possible in my area tonite.....maybe I'll catch a lightening show and the neighborhood amateur fireworks displays...on my front porch of course!

Chazzy, your front porch topics inspired me to move some of the kiddie furniture around and add a few adult places next to the house. I grew up in a place where the front porches and back patio's were the place the neighbors gathered. In our back yard the area between our next door neighbor and our house became the "beer garden" with several picnic tables. Every Friday night (at least) the neighbors would walk over and everyone would have a relaxing start to the weekend. Saturday's we all would go to dinner and end up chatting on the driveways or back at the beer garden...the smell of fresh cut grass, new dirt, and our parents bottles of beer were a staple in our lives...

It's just great to have one place of peace and joy, just that one place, that's my front porch... since my husband started this last job, and he gets home about 2:30am...I go out there about 2:am, with a cup of coffee and just totally unwind from the whole day, sitting there where it's dark and cool, moon and stars, an occasional breeze playing the wind chimes, and the quiet squeaking of the swing, the crickets and bullfrogs....it just makes everything else melt and fade away.

London had hail stones the size of 50p pieces, it look like it had been snowing!!! 
I email my friends to have a laugh when i'm blue.

A week ago we had hail about the size of softballs, just to the north of me. I had only pea and quarter sized hail. But no damage, thank god.
Chazzy that porch of yours is so inviting. I wish that I had something like that, just to be able to unwind a little before going to bed at night, or any other time for that matter.

The whole day can be crap,as long as I get my 2am coffee time on the porch swing...everything is alright!
I'm more concerned with keeping my front porch "sanctuary" clean and orderly than I am with the inside of my house!

Its official, as if we didnt know already.
In UK june was the rainiest month since records began. Also was 1 degree above average temperature.
And they say global warming doesnt exist!

Juils, with those lips, they are way to luscious. Look at mine, damn things are all hairy. I'm hiding the warts under the hair.
