We're going have a gathering at my parents place. This is one of the only holidays I'll get off this year.

We spent the evening with my hubs family on Tuesday nite. There were around 35 of us there. Lots of kids to chase after. Got pretty loud with all of the young and old shooting off fireworks. Had a great bbq and a great time. No disasters, which was so great. On Wednesday nite we went to our oldest son's house. Our daughter-in-laws brother and a friend played live music all nite while we had a bbq and had a great fireworks show. Both nites were late nites, but was so much fun spending time with our family and friends!

We've been going to the fireworks show in the next town since my oldest was a baby. This time around, as soon as the show began, some people in a spot a few cars away started playin' a cd with patriotic songs. That's the first time that has happened since we've been goin' and I hope it happens every year from now on. It brought a tear to my eye. 
We had a bbq at my brother's house on the 4th and I watched him almost get blown away by a dud. It was one of the huge ones and he was way too close when it seemed to "implode." He was fine, though. I guess you get to that point where after so much beer, you tend to feel no pain

Our 4th of July celebrating ended tonight. Our town always has a professional show, but it was canceled because of rain till tonight. My hubby and I sat out on our deck and watched the show. Was so awesome! The show started out with the singing of our National Anthem.
