10 years
It's the 10th anniversary of Diana's death in August.
To mark this and her 46th birthday, there will be a big concert at Wembley arena tomorrow.
Princes William and Harry have arranged the event and any money raised will go to three charities. The boys have all Diana's favorite groups/singers performing.
This is just a thread to remember a great lady, someone who used who was for nothing but good to help others.
I just thought it would be nice to write a short note to remember her.
Please only say positive thoughts, no negative ones, if for some reason you did not like her or what she did, then please keep your comments to yourself, just this once.
I remember my husband coming and waking me up, and telling me Diana had died and i felt so sad, as she was loved by so many people. She used to visit the hospital where my husband was cured of cancer and sit with the children and parents on so many occasions. She did so much for charities and touched so many lives.
I went up to London to place flowers, the atmosphere was amazing, everyone giving each other comfort, whether they knew each other or not, it was good to see people pulling together.

She was fantastic! And so is the continuing legacy of her charitable heart!
And yes, that would be nice, no negative comments in this thread please...let courtesy and respect be the theme.
And ya'all in the UK...we know what's happened the past two days, we love you, worry about you, worry with you, take care!

Re: 10 years
Nice topic hbg, she was an amazing woman an inspiration to us all. She made so much of her time here and even though she had a tough time with the royal family and the press, she never once showed it. She has two great sons, who the country are very proud off.
God rest her soul

Just seen news footage of the Princes with unwell children they have invited to the concert. They were playing with them, and spending allot of time with them, we are lucky to have such great Princes and Heir to the throne. What an amazing country this will be, with William our king

It is so hard to believe that it has been 10 years for sure. We will be remembering her here in the states too. That is one lady I will never forget.

Re: 10 years
To be perfectly honest, PRINCESS DIANA and her celebrity, was and is lost on me. I understand everybody needs someone to look up to but I likened her celebrity to our movie stars and their celebrity here in the states, with most of them being freakin' lucky they don't have to work for a living!
I found it hard to care what PD was doing 10 years ago. Maybe it's the MONARCHY that I have problems with. I had nothing against her as a person but it was all of the trappings that surrounded her that I objected to. What, she marries a prince and then all of a sudden she's a special person with some special social insight?
I am sorry if I make you angry by reading this but that's how I feel about it!!

I also agree with the many here. Diana was a true one of kind lady. She did great work for the awareness of the many charities that she brought to the fore front. There have been many lives touch by her and her legacy. She will never be forgotten. May she rest in peace.

I think her horrible marriage enabled her to do the good things she did. She could have sat back and been no use to anyone, but she used who she was to help others.
You are entitled to your opinion VB, but i wanted this thread for positive comments, but it's good to know how you feel xxx

Re: 10 years
People like Diana rose so high, because they first hit that rock bottom...and rose like the Phoenix...that takes strength, allot of strength.
I cannot for the life of me, think of one single negative thing to say about her...
She was an amazing woman.

Re: 10 years
Hey HOT, I realize now that because she was married to that gargoyle, that should have been punishment enough. She did so many good things with her celebrity and to that I salute her. Are you listening PARIS HILTON?

Re: 10 years
I watched her wedding on TV, she was so beautiful and just got more so.
Her death was a blow to even us Americans, IMHO, she was all that was noble and good about who she was.

Re: 10 years
I caught some clips and bits of the concert...63,000 people! It was a beautiful memorial, the boys did a fantastic job, they seemed to be beaming with the pride of being able to carry on for her, and thrilled with the sucess of the concert,
