Aging gracefully...or not?
Do you like and/or accept the changes in your appearance that comes with aging?
Are you going to age gracefully, as they say...or fight it all the way?
Have you ever considered or maybe even had botox, a facelift, derma-abrasion treatments?
I do like to play with hair color, sometimes just to cover a little grey, sometimes I like to go a little off the hook with it and go for something different, brighter.
I don't mind the other changes in me, weird, but I kinda like looking my age!

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
I don't particularly like my appearance as I have aged. I have put on way too much weight and have "shrinkage" issues! To combat these onslaughts so starting in AUGUST, I will initiate the NUTRISYSTEM meal plan.
I do "condition" my hair to the blonde color I donned as a teen! Maybe the hair thing is bit vain but f**k you if you don't like it! At least I still have my hair!!!!
The weight thing is a practical as well as a health issue and as such, I vow to prevail!!!! I'll keep you posted as to the details and my progress.

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
Everyone would like to look they did the day of their 20th birthday, but that just isn't the way it works of course. I have recently made the realization myself, that yep... I too have changed quite a bit. A bit unsettling, but what can you really do about it? These operations people have (for the most part) are really foolish. I think that Micheal Jackson is the perfect poster picture for this??? Hmmmmm???? Maybe something slight.. and.. ONE TIME might be ok.. but.. after that, leave it alone! You're gonna get old.. you're gonna die some day.
Gals seem to have more of a problem with this topic than guys... or so it seems to the gals. Us guys just look at different things is all. Many people out there have suggested that many men get better looking as they get older and that women do not. The jury is still out on that one... so. I'll stay tuned.
Bottom line.. nope.. no surgeries.. no nothing. What happens.. happens. Yep.. I'm getting older, just like everyone else. And.. if I'm real lucky... one day... I'll have white hair and live to tell about it!!!!!

To me, aging is always fifteen years older than I am.

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
I've been lucky as my mum and nan have always looked great for their age and i have been told many times, i do not look my age. I take care of myself inside and out, and don't intend to have surgery. I will however never grow old gracefully, it will certainly be disgracefully

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
I guess you can say that as I have grown older, I have become more beautiful.....Not to say that I'm the cats "meow" ......But, I have been very lucky, I prefer to get more beautiful when it counts the most in life....
I actually think its one of the ONLY effects I have had since getting pregnant...It seems ever since the first one, I have responded gracefully through out the years.....Although, how I feel is a whole other story!

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
I have to laugh at this tread, not so much the topic, but the age groups that are making replies to it,,,
Of course you look good, silly,,lots of you are only in your 20's 30's and 40's ,,,,, Come back again when your over 50 and still on your unhealthy diets of french fries, cheese burgers, cakes, creams, loads of dairy products, red meat, soda pop and your still using your Tread Mill for a cloths rack,, Then tell me how good your Genes are,,,,,I cant help it,,It just sounds so weird for me reading it,,,I know you guys are serious and all but I just have to laugh. I guess because most people do not have the knowledge, will power or determination to do what is healthy now,,,so that when you reach 50's 60's and 70's that you can honestly talk about aging gracefully.Sorry just my unpopular thoughts.

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
When we do age gracefully and then decide that we got an imbalance of to much Age and not enough Grace, why is it that we have to pay 100% out of your pockets for a face or titty lift, but the people who led a purposely unhealthy life painting their arteries with lipid fats then wind up needing a stint, angioplasty and they get it covered under the medical plan and even sometimes get long term therapy and social security disability for self inflicted conditions

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
You seem to think most younger people live unhealthy lives, isn't that a bit presumptuous.
Speaking personally, i have a good healthy balance to my life. Looking good and aging well, is down to the genes as much as how you live your life.
Just because someone is in their 20's,30's or 40's doesn't mean they can't look good for their age.

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
Its not something I dreamed up,,,it is the National US statistics, Diabetes, Arterial sclerosis, heart disease in young people in the USA is At epidemic purportions. What you eat will either degrade your good Genes or help them.

Re: Aging gracefully...or not?
My hubby says I look better now than I ever did. Guess I have to take his word for it. I do try to be careful what I eat and drink and try to take care of myself. I don't believe that I will every have any surgeries. But I won't say that I don't do a few things to help me age gracefully.

I'm aging gracefully? Yea, as long as I don't move a muscle. Once I stand up and fall flat on my face the gigs is up...

I have a family friend who is a beautician and her comment is interesting....A woman is interested in getting rid of or covering wrinkles, sagging anatomical parts and "age spots". Men on the other hand are very vain about their hair in most cases, more so than women. and their physical prowess. Men as a rule will spend more money at "The Hair Club for Men than women will in most cases. And look at all the ads for Cialis and Viagra!

Ageing is something that doesn't matter, unless you are a cheese or fine wine.
