Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
Wow...after reading your post, I had to go to the CNN site and look up the story....it says that Chris Benoit, his wife, and 7 year old son were found dead Monday and police said they were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide but that couldn't be confirmed until evidence was examined by a crime lab.
How horrible!

Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
i was very saddened to hear about the death of the Canadian crippler Chris Benoit, he was one of my fav wrestlers, its a great loss to all wrestling fans. I'm just finding it hard to belive that it could be a murder/suicide, he is well known for being a family man. my heart goes out to the Benoit family, in their time of loss.

Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
on the Chris Benoit story, the latest i heard was that the possibility existed that it COULD have been a triple murder. no gunshot wounds , and no cause of death reported yet. if it WAS a triple murder without gunfire, how the hell could ANY normal person take down the Rabid Wolverine? i think its a very sad day for ALL wrestling fans everywhere !!!!!!

Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
Hey people, you can't be pumping the juice into your body and not expect some repercussions! Come on, to compete in that level of wrestling, you have to have an edge and that edge is getting as strong as possible. That means muscle mass that cannot come from pumping iron exclusively! You need that extra boost that can only come from the needle! Along with that "boost", comes the sometimes uncontrolled mood swings that occasionally turns to violence and sometimes murder.
Medical examiners have just confirmed that steroids "may" have been a factor. NO SHIT? Thus the tragedy of CHRIS BENOIT. He made his bed a long time ago and his family was made to pay for it. That is tragic......

Heard about this when I got to work today. A lot of my employees are wrestling fans. Very sad and so tragic.

Mooant is better at explaining this type of thing...but most often it's a state of delusion, extremely delusional emotional and mental state of thinking that somehow you are actually "saving" your loved ones from some greater evil or horrible existence, and that everything will be good in heaven.
There are antique journals dating back centuries of where the fear of sickness (plagues and such), the fear of starvation, or some other impending threat has caused delusions where a parent will commit murder/suicide.
It could be that the stress of the marriage breaking up combined with POSSIBLE steroid use caused a similar delusion.
I'm only guessing, and yep...I talk too much! But a likely scenario would be that he killed his wife out of pure rage, then the delusions that his child would lead a horrible life on earth, growing up with the memory of his father killing his mother, etc...and the child would be only happy in heaven...very sad, very severe delusions...

How right you are Chazzy. You just don't know what to expect when people have those kind of thoughts going through their heads. So sad how it affects more than just them. Guess sometimes we don't realize how the things we think or do will affect others.

Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
I was very surprized to hear of this. I understand that it is being investigated as a murder/suicide. On tv they have said that steroids could cause the depression and paranoia that cause people to act this way.

Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
after watching the news last night, a cold reality came to light for me, Chris Benoit was actually responsible for the deaths of his wife, his son, and himself. it just breaks my heart that he took the lives of the very people that were the ones he was supposed to love and protect from harm......

Re: wrestling fans in mourning...
I suppose it will be awhile before we, the public will know what the investigates can prove with evidence, was he having "roid rage" or what induced his anger and delusions...allot of unanswered questions yet..it's just so sad no matter what they find..

I've heard that they searched a Doctor's office and took medical records now...all we really have right now, is a guess at what happened that weekend.
