That's a relief.......
My wife was offered a job yesterday. It is right up her alley and the pay is great! The travel time will be about 10 minutes from the house and the starting time will be 7am! She's very happy about not having to sit around waiting for employers to call her in for an interview or 2nd and 3rd interviews. She starts her new job in late August. Her present job ends July 27th after 30+ years. Sh*t, she'll sign up for unemployment (3 weeks worth) and with her 8 months severance, she'll do alright. The only thing is, we were planning a 17 day vacation in Sept but it looks as if that'll have to wait. Oh well.......

Re: That's a relief.......
Really pleased for your wife VB that is great news. If she asked her new employer if she could still take an already book holiday, they should be ok with that.
I had to do that last year when i was offered another job, i had already book my holiday and they were fine.
Wish her luck and it's great to here some good news.

Even after 30 years with the same employer, she still has doubts that she can do the job. I told her that she was chosen among 7 other candidates so they must not have any doubts about her ability to do the job.

Re: That's a relief.......
VB you guys are so lucky that you still have each other and a good income. Many employers are realizing that the work ethic for older, experienced workers is much more solid than the 20-somethings that float from job to job frequently. The rule has gone out the window in most cases but it used to be if an applicant had 4 or more jobs in a 10 year period they were not considered as employable. Times have really changed!

Thanks SMITTY. Yeh, we are fortunate to still have each other after 30+ years! This job thing is but a bump in the road. Hell, we've been through far worse......
