Shuttle launch...
I took the time to watch it yesterday....it still just blows me away to see something like that, watching those huge rockets create that much thrust, and just knowing we can travel back and forth to a space station!

Re: Shuttle launch...
It is amazing to think how easy it is to go into space. My cousin works for the space programme, it is so interesting what he tells us, not that he can say much but what he is allowed to say is very interesting.

Re: Shuttle launch...
I still love to watch the launchs, just wish I could do it in person. I think that would be a great experience. Back when we were traveling to the moon, we always would watch it on the TV. It had a special meaning for us kids, as the company my dad worked for, made some type of device to line up the lunar modual with the orbiter. In fact we had one at home for years, will have to find out what happened to it.

If you get the chance, go to see one launch in person. It's even more impressive. I had the chance to see one launch at night when I lived in Tampa. Thing looked like it was only a few blocks away and I could hear the rockets too!!
My brother also works in the Space Program and cann't say much about what he does. It's interesting watching a sci-fi show with him though. When they have something questionable in the show, I can ask if that can be done and I usually get an answer.--hehe

Re: Shuttle launch...
I'd just love to see a launch in person! It's so hard to grasp the major scale of things on a TV....even a large screen TV...
