Maybe Some other Time
When you ask somebody to chat/get in touch on here, and they say 'Maybe some other time'. Do you see this as a polite brush off, or do you believe that they will be in touch at a more convenient time?

I have found it could be both

Some use it and never talk to you again

Re: Maybe Some other Time
I do not think they are brushing you off Lib, unless it is a jealouse female and then it could be that they are realy busy or like some men (Like me) who can not type real fast to keep up with 3 or more people in the Chat BS. Some men may also be too shy for a one on one typing conversation, but talking in person are very interesting and fun people. and here you will never find out, unless you have a airplane I know for one, I would never brush anyone off, especialy you Their have been some people that I have not answered back to a statement made to me, but I do not think they were looking for a reply by what they said, and I do not feel that I have to defend myself, when I have clearly made my point. It would just lead to an argument and that is not what Im all about. I would rather be fucking not fighting,,,

Re: Maybe Some other Time
It could be brush off. If I would say maybe some other time, I would give you a reason why I couldn't. If wanted to brush you off, I wouldn't answer you at all.

Re: Maybe Some other Time
I say it all the time to chatroom invitations, most of ya know I rarely ever go to the chatroom, I'm just not a chat person and I don't have any IM programs on my computer either...
I prefer to do everything by email, and by PM's...then I can reply while multitasking, and reply when my time allows me to.

Re: Maybe Some other Time
I guess it's a male thing to be a cock-eyed optimist with that kind of reply. Unfortunately it IS usually a brush off. I guess it would be better to send private e-mail or in PM so as not to cause embarrassment. I do believe that the polite thing to do for a personal email is to at least reply on the order of "no thanks, you aren't really who I'm looking for right now" as a courtesy. I feel no reply is kinda rude, but I guess I'm not Miss Manners.
Chazzy, does that mean you won't cam with me on MSN? I'm crushed!.....lqtm.

Re: Maybe Some other Time
Sometimes, rules of ettiquette that we expect in the real world, just can't apply in the cyberworld...especially when women are usually outnumbered by men quite a bit, and it just may not be feasible for some women to reply to every message, at least not in what one would call "a timely manner"
And then there's this to factor...I know some men will just spend every second online blanketing as many women as possible with messages, to try to up their chance of getting a reply or two...and they are interested in the quanity of messages they send, and may not even read the profiles of the women they message, which really isn't considered good manners either.

Re: Maybe Some other Time
When I read a profile that says:
1.Tell Ya Later
2.Underconstruction
3.Just ask me
4.here for Fun and good times
5.not sure, just looking
It is hard to message to some of these people, But Chazzy is right, one should read available profiles before sending a note to others, maybe we need some Website standard pre-writen Profiles to choose from? because if this is a new experience, it can be frustrating to write something about oneself and thinking that we sound foolish, overwhelming, or not wanting to tell everyone that you just wanna get Layed,,,etc,,

Re: Maybe Some other Time
It is most likely a brush off in a polite manner..but than they might be to busy to communicate at that moment.

Re: Maybe Some other Time
Sometimes I check my messages before I leave for work, so the "maybe some other time" is that. When I actually do have time and get a message, and they are in the chat room I try and go in and tell them I got their message.
I do read their profiles so I know what they maybe looking for.
