just a question??
a few times in the chat lobby, someone comes in...and before they even say anything...they get warned by server, and usually get kicked out, right away?? is this just a server glitch? or are these people being punished for past behavior issues?...just curious.

Hmmmm...warned by the server? What's the warning message say exactly, and how does it come up? Can you give me more detail please..

As far as I know, someone can be "banned" from the chatroom and that decision is based on evidence of offensive behavior and/or rule breaking of some kind..and/or number of reports and/or complaints...but by being "banned"..they should not even be able to enter the chatroom at all.
The only way someone in the chatroom can be banned, frozen, warned or kicked out while in chat, is if there is someone in the chatroom with moderator operating status....and most of ya'all know who all the mods here are, so you would know when that is happening.

Okay...my last post may be confusing....so, a person can get banned from the chatroom which means they will not be able to get into chat....no matter how much they try, how often, etc....they are banned from it. The ban can be reversed, but usually bannings happen for very good reason so it's probably not likely.
Another scenario is that a mod comes into the chatroom, and warns, freezes, and/or boots someone out for the time being, ...but the booted person can again log back into the chatroom at a later time.
Am I being of any help at all? If someone is having this problem, and wonders if the site has banned them, just send me a quick message and I'll check it out for you and get back to you as soon as possible. If you're having tech problems and getting server or error messages, let me know about that, I'm suck at most things tech, but I'll be happy to work on the prob with ya!

thanks chazzy...that helps a little bit...
sometimes, when people (lets use joeblow for exmaple...) it comes up joeblow has entered the room, joeblow has been warned by server, and finally joeblow has been kicked by server, before joeblow even gets a chance to say anything...
hasn't happened to me.....i just was curious if there was any specific reason for it, is all.
maybe this post will help all the joeblow's out there who are going through this problem.

I haven't heard of that problem. Mostly its the server just plain kicking you out. You log back in, but it just keeps kicking someone out. Don't know why.

I've seen it happen a couple of times too -- always wondered what someone could be doing in p-chat that they would get warned about in public??? The only other thing I've seen someone get warned about in public is over-emoting!
Next time I see it, if I do, I'll send u a buffer.

don't know that they were in pchat, just assumed that must be the case since they got warned even though they never said anything in public.

it kinda happened again tonight -- it looked to us like a certain user was having trouble getting into the room (coming in and leaving and coming in and leaving and coming in and leaving... the way ppl do when they can't stay in). Then one time, she came in, and immediately got warned by server... I've got a saved buffer, if u want it.

I've seen it happen that a person will get warned and kicked if they are Im ing too much.

Probably a "Java Script Error" that takes over and kicks you out. Try going to the Java Site and either updating your version or deleting your version and starting it over from scratch. That should fix most of the problems having to do with the chat room...
