The whales
The two whales that have been trapped up the Sacromento river....Anyone else been following this, and rooting for the mother and calf to return to the sea?
Something about these of human interest stories that brings all kinds of people together on one good and common thought!

I hope they both return to the sea safely.
Whales are amazing creatures and it is beyond me how some countries kill them so horribly, and for no good reason.

They've been herded nearer the open sea now, and they even managed to shoot em with anitbiotic darts for their wounds.

It is wonderful to hear the way they communicate with each other, and their sheer size is awesome up close. Something so big, can be so gentle.

They have made it about 25 miles toward open water but still are in the Sacramento River. I really hope this works out for them. I don't think anyone understands how this happened or why.

It seems to be going well for the whales! They say their wounds are looking better, they seem a little healthier...and they are nearing the Golden Gate....they should be back at sea soon!

well they couldnt have picked a more beautiful riverway than the delta and sac river! a journey everyone should experience! luck to em!
