if a friend asked
what advice would you give them if they were contemplating cheating on his partner simply to allow her to "dump" him rather than her being rejected yet one more time in her life?

I'd tell them she will still feel rejected if she gets cheated on, she may feel alot worse, knowing he has slept with someone else behind her back. I'd tell them that honesty may be the way to go.

Well, simply telling the other party that they slept around doesn't do much in the way of getting rid of the other, unless they are now riddled with an STD. While on the other hand, doin it in front of him might just encourage him to join in, therefore not getting the message across. So I would have to go with the whole honesty thing and just tell them straight out. It's either that or STD's and threesomes ...

I think that would be the cowards way out, besides being a complete ass to his/her partner and making them possibly hate you, you are also being dis-honest to your self. Also if they are not married, then cheating has no use-full meaning, especially when both people are playing the field and being promiscuous in the first place. Its like no one wants to make a commitment, so I'll try yours and you can try mine,,,and if we dont like it we move on. No matter what you do there will be hurt feelings to someone. So I would just be up front about the whole thing, search your heart and soul and tell the truth to the other partner, maybe you will still be friends in the end.

That's a rough one...rejection is a hard pill to swallow no matter what you chase it down with...cheating on someone is a form of rejection...so no matter which choice is made, the end of something is difficult.

Generally speaking...deal with the probs in the relationship...then if all fails, move on...trying to live some double life never does anyone any good..and I'll include the one being cheated with...it's so not fair to them either.

even though hes trying to be "nice" i think its worse than just dumping her, bec she knows shes not good enough for him,(he cheated) and he will allways be known as a guy who cheats, and look at it the other way, wouldnt you rather be plain old dumped than cheated on?

I guess I would have to tell him to be a man, and step up at tell the respected other what he was feeling, then maybe there would be no cheating, because the respected other would have a clue of what he felt was missing, and take the steps to correct the problem........
