a sense of loss
although none of the folks here have met me, some of you have come to know me, sort of anyway. today (about half an hour ago) i lost a close friend. he was my next-door neighbor, and a very good friend. he called me last night about 530 to let me know he was driving his motorized wheelchair(like a Hoveround) to the hospital e r , he said he was suffering from sever back pain. i went over right away and helped him load up and leave. about 7 pm , i called the hospital and spoke to him for the last time,he asked that i lock up his apt, so ,of course, i did. never really thought much about it, he went to the hospital regularly for his emphesema, diabetes, heart trouble. about 715 am today, i heard a noise next door,it turned out to be his stepson bringing the chair back,he then informed me of the death of his stepfather. Don and i had been very close friends for two years, and this is a hard pill to swallow. i am sure it will take me a long time to get over my friends death. if you are religious, please pray for Don and his family.....

Re: a sense of loss
I'll tell 'ya young man , I had to accept the passing of my father-in-law (87 y/o) along those same lines. One minute I'm talking to him, planning a trip to a RED SOX game and an hour later, they pronounce him dead. I was in shock for two days after. Man, that was tough for me. We were very close. I miss the guy.....
