Put 'er there.......
I know this is freakin' lame ass topic, but I'm half awake, so here goes.....
There are a lot of the guys, mostly 30 somethings and younger, that do not greet each other with a handshake but with the tragically hip "knuckle bump". WTF? That's no f**kin' way to greet anybody. Where the f**k did that version come from? What, is that a sign that they would rather`punch each other in the face?
A traditional handshake is not only a sign of respect but a gesture of "glad to see 'ya"!!! A firm handshake is also a sure indication of the strength of character of the giver as well as the receiver. What the f**k is a knuckle bump supposed to represent? Please enlighten me......

Re: Put 'er there.......
I have no explanation there vb. When I walk up to a friend , old or new I shake their hand. And always if I'm just introducing myself. I don't want a limp wristed handshake from a guy either, I like a firm grip, I wanna know I'm shakin hands with a man. With a lady is a little different, I don't expect to feel a strong hand or calluses

Re: Put 'er there.......
yeah, I don't know what's happened to the traditional handshake either, but maybe it's just as well as the younger guys probably "choke the chicken" pretty much constantly and at that age, probably aren't frequent hand-washers either

Re: Put 'er there.......
I've mostly seen the "knuckle bump" used as a sign of mutual affirmation, like the old "high five" and not so much as a greeting like a handshake.

It one thing to see a hockey player who just scored a goal and knuckle bump the gloves of team mates on the bench as he returns to the bench. Other than that, I think its ridiculous. There was an episode of Yes Dear where a guy tries to bump knuckles with the Jimmy character. Jimmy asks him what he's doing and why and the guy explains that he saw it on TV. Jimmy asks "When's the last time you watched TV, the 90's?"

Re: Put 'er there.......
I whole heartedly agree. A limp wristed handshake bites the big one. It's like they really don't want to make the effort to shake your hand. WTF??? As for the knuckle bump being a euphemism for an over indulgence of pud pounding......your probably right!!!!!

Re: Put 'er there.......
Possible explanination for the knuckle bump...
1. The exchange of germs through contact of grasping that other guys hand, who only minutes earlier, was holding his third leg over the porcelin alter in the mens room...
2. Because that's what Zan and Jania did to activate their powers as, "Wonder Twins"...
3. Because punching the other guys hand gives you insight as to how hard a blow from the other guy would feel on your face if said the wrong thing during your conversation...
4. It's the difference between rugged football fans and sissy baseball fans...
5. Because if the other person connects with you, that means your still friends. If not you can still follow through and knock each other out...

Re: Put 'er there.......
This is a guy thing, but when greeting someone I know very well through business, we usually shake hands and then the men kiss me on the cheek...can't see anyone knuckle bumping me...with a woman, we just hug when we know each other well.

Re: Put 'er there.......
I'm all for the normal hand shake from strangers, although I prefer the simple head nod unless I have a reason to introduce myself. Otherwise I just follow the example of the other person, but I'll do the complicated handshakes with the people I know and trust.

Re: Put 'er there.......
My approach has always yielded good results...for men, a firm handshake is the ticket. For women, I choose to either brush their one tit with my upper arm, or (if they already seem interested) I gently roll a nipple between my thumb and index finger.
