With cameras everywhere, face recognition software, implanted microchips, DNA advancements, etc...
Does the rapid advancement in technology amaze you, fascinate you or....kinda scare ya?

Re: Technology...
Technology? Oh you mean like electric lights, radio and vacuum tubes? Sure, great scientific curiosities but they will never have any practical applications. Nope, not intimidated at all by all this newfangled stuff. Remember your great-grandparents used to sit around watching TV by candlelight.
Seriously look where we have come in 100 years, or in 50 or even 25 years. The things we take for granted were in the realm of science fiction or not even thought of yet back then. Who wouldn't be just a little overwhelmed? Look at what you are doing to read this message as you sit at a coffee shop interacting worldwide and without wires. Mind boggling isn't it? The technology I learned when I was younger seems quaint and very antiquated now. My grandson has always known about computers, cell phones and handheld videogames. He is convinced that I am telling "tall tales" about not watching television as a child or not sending e-mail or text to all my friends everyday. Just think about what technology he will see or his children will use in the days to come. Ain't it fun?

Re: Technology...
It amazes me what we can achieve with technology, there are some very clever people out there who do this stuff.

Re: Technology...
i fully marvel at the advances in technology overall...how co-dependent on the results of the "collective creativity" which permeates our world,,,think mri in the medical area, cell phones and the continued evolution of them, puffers at the airport, and so much more...
...i thikn for the most part technology is progressing and improving our lives...not 100% but way, way more than to its detriment.

Re: Technology...
I think its kinda cool. But whats more, is all the technology that's sitting on the shelves waiting for the right application. Look at the laptop screens. 3M had that sitting on the shelf for years before they found an application.

Re: Technology...
I thinks it's amazing, I mean a tiny little microchip under your skin to unlock your home's doors, get you through airport and other security points with just a quick scan, carrying all your medical files for emergencies...but then...that much technology kinds creeps me out too!

Re: Technology...
I was at a conference earlier this week and we had one quote that hit home
"Technology is anything that was invented after you were born"
So do I think that it makes life easier - well for the things before 1967 it is just life - after 1967 it is just like guns - it is whose hands are in charge that matters most.

Re: Technology...
I don't really know about me, but I think it might scare some of you women. If we get any more technological than we already are, they could find themselves walking into a GAP like something out of a bad rendition of, "The Minority Report" and having the store call them out by name and know everything about them... (Hello Madalin, isn't it that time of the month for you? I suppose you'd like to view our selection of fat jeans today?) Hearing that come out over the speakers in a store could be very imbarassing...

Re: Technology...
Okay....I saw an ad for a phone, or mps player...I dunno...but if you heard a song being played somewhere, anywhere, you just held up the device towards the music, and it identifies it, then finds it and downloads it for you all with a click???
Wow...
