A prayer for Maddie
I find it so hard to watch the poor parents of Maddie McCann, everyone over here are supporting the family, with awareness runs and high profile footballers and business man have offered large amounts of money for her safe return.
Lets all say a prayer for Maddies safe return.
For anyone who doesn't know about Maddie, she is a four year old British girl, who was taken from her bed, while on holiday in Portugal.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
It just tears me up to know another child is missing, and the odds of a safe return..
But...it happened here in Missouri with Shawn Hornbeck, I hope for a miracle for Maddie and her family too.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
I am saying lots of prayers for the little darling, I hate when things like that happen to defensless people.
I cannot remember if the Jon Bonett girls was ever found? that lasted for such a long time.

Hothands are you talking about the little girl from Denver? She was found murdered in the basement of their home, that night she went missing. I feel sorry for her mother also, Pat Ramsey, as she died without knowing who killed her little girl.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
I don't know about anyone else here but if my child was kidnapped, I would be a mental case and the police officials would have to shoot me with a tranquilizer gun to stop me from searching! I would not rest until I either found my child, knew what happened to my child or I dropped dead from searching. There would be no stopping me!!!!! I keep thinking of JOHN WALSH and his murdered son ADAM.........
These types of cases never turn out good!!!!!!

Re: A prayer for Maddie
It is so sad to realize that there are sick and twisted people (no, animals) that could ever think of bringing so much suffering and pain to everyone. At best her innocence is gone and at worst she is being treated as a commodity. I pray that the girl is found soon and that something can be done to help her have a near normal life. The totally evil person or persons involved should be caught and dealt with as severely as possible. Better yet put in a locked room with the girls relatives for an hour or two.

They are hoping a couple have taken her, who wanted a child, so we can only hope that is the case. At least she is being looked after.
I'm with you VB, i'd be like a lunatic and someone would get hurt if i caught up with them.
Libs, pass on our love and hope to Maddies family.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
I will do HB, Maddies parents are convinced that she is safe and well - lets just hope that they are right. Most of their time is being spent with trauma consultants.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
UPDATE;
They have a suspect, he is British, but so far they can't get enough evidence to keep him. His mother has also been questioned and her house searched. The mother had been helping with the search for Maddie, if they are involved, they made sure they kept well in with what the police knew.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
Here in the States, they had Maddie's parents on TV doing a interview. There is no way that I could remain that calm. If some had taken my kids, you bet there would be a few people with parts of their boby in pain. But we will keep little Maddie in our thought and prayers.

Wasn't it both of the parent? Or did i miss something?
I've been bad on this stuff... didn't realize what was going on until BCB and I were watching tv this morning and the news said the parents were the suspects now.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
It's all such a mess right now...naming the mother as a suspect may not mean that much, and the Portuguese law and legal system is quite different than ours...this just may be a tactic to get the mother to "flip" on the father who may be more suspicious...who knows.
Something about a claim that Maddie's blood was found in a car that was rented by the parents 25 days AFTER her disapearance...just doesn't make any real sense.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
This makes me so freaking crazy...the bottomline is this baby has been missing for so much time. Whoever the hell did this has made families, friends, and nations fret over this poor baby. If it was the parents, I just don't get it, I've been sleep deprived when my children were little...give yourself a "time out" if you feel your blood start to rise. Children are gifts, not everyone is blessed with them (some people make the choice not to have them and I applaud them if that is their decision). If you can't care for them, believe me there is a family out there that would give an appendage for a sweet little one...
Sorry, I just can't stand when grown ups whether it be her parents or someone else do something to a child!!!

My prayers for her also but also you all brought tears to my eyes, what a caring wonderful group of people, glad I've gotten to know you all if only just a little.
Goes beyond comprehension how any one could hurt a child.

Re: A prayer for Maddie
I really don't know what to think anymore, what, with all the controversial press coverage, and the parents have been allowed to return home to Britain? and why, oh why, is it taking the Portuguese police so long ? God help them should anything tragic happen to any of their own children.
