Expressing yourself
How well do you express yourself and convey your thoughts?
Are you pretty good at it, or are you often misunderstood?
Is it easier for you to express youself with speaking, in writing, or with you actions?

Re: Expressing yourself
For being such a platonic person you sure want alot of information
I supose I am good at expressing myself very well by speaking, writing and actions. Its just that when the speaking and writing do not work sometimes the coarse of action startles their comfort zones,,

Re: Expressing yourself
I understand that, Dave...I'd like to think that whatever I say is taken for it's face value...I think allot of problems and misunderstandings come from those who try to find "underlying" meanings, trying to "read between the lines" as they say.

Re: Expressing yourself
I tend to express myself much better with the written word than with the use of the vocal word. I often find that the people that talk to me are confused and rarely understand what I'm trying to convey.

I find that true also that alot of people do read or try to read between the lines on most everything that is said in their presence. And that probably comes from being a little insecure or maybe feeling guilty.

Re: Expressing yourself
I am very bad at expressing myself with words, so I normally do it through actions. Or I say or do nothing until the mole hill is a mountain, and I explode........ Then it is just a big fight, so I am trying to get better with my words........

Re: Expressing yourself
not much different than troy there... i dont let it get to the 'explode' point anymore but i let things slide until i just have to say something. problem is i'm poor with words, more of the "actions speak louder" type.

Re: Expressing yourself
I think it is safe to say that I have lots of opinions on just about everything and open my mouth (or type) a lot. I just try to "let it flow" and type like I talk. Hopefully I manage to express myself in a coherent manner at least a majority of the time. I have no "hidden agenda" so never read behind the lines...I guarantee there is nothing extra in my words or posts...I'm not that subtle. I have always been at ease in talking with anyone or groups of any size. Shy does not describe me but I hope making at least some sense does .

Re: Expressing yourself
This depends on hat i am trying to express. Some times just a fw well spoken words are allyou need, sometimes just a gesture, and then there is that special look that can say it all.

Re: Expressing yourself
With the right subject matter and a proper amount of sleep, I can express myself admirably vocally. Most times though, I do a much better job with the written word or in this case, the typed word! I find I can use innuendo and double entendre to better effect without the immediate physical response that might come in a face to face situation!
