why would someone do this to me?
i got up early this morning, to do a little yard work. my roses are doing beautifuly.
and then i notice--the gate is open. i never leave the gate open.
suddenly, it hits me. there are only 3 glow-in-the-dark butterfly pinwheels! there used to be 5!
why would someone steal a person's yard ornaments? especially ones this---tacky?
elwood and i are very upset.
must of been a bad person bad stealer-of-tacky-yard ornaments.
well, at least the evil garden gnomes are safe!

Re: why would someone do this to me?
There are so many people out there who do stupid shit. And they dont even know why!
Last year my daughter made me a big butterfly on a stick for my garden It was out 2 weeks when someone stole it. Now I love my daughter dearly..But it was the ugliest damn flutterby ya ever did see! SO why someone would want to steal it is beyond me...And that poor lil girl was heart broken

Re: why would someone do this to me?
There is an actual, national organzation (with a website) devoted to ridding all landscape of tacky lawn ornaments, pink flamigos are a main target, either you interrupted their covert raid and they only got the job partially done, or just some dam kids from the neighborhood doing stupid stuff!

Re: why would someone do this to me?
If they had stolen one (or even 8) of those stupid statues with little cherubs peeing, I would applaud their action. Stealing little butterfly pinwheels is a reprehensible crime that should be severely punished.

Re: why would someone do this to me?
i am in desperate need of pink flamingos. my son has a neon one in his window, that'll do for now, but if anybody has any extra.....
i also need one of the black cat clocks with the wagging tail. and one of those drinking birds.
and i would never put a peeing cherub on my lawn. unless he was wearing a diaper....... now there's a thought.....

Re: why would someone do this to me?
p.s. the nieghborhood kids would not do something like that to "auntie". we have an agreement, that if they are going to pull a prank, they run it by me first,so i can help polish it. in reality, i put the kaboosh on the dangerous or illegal ones.

You didn't mention plastic deer, I assume you'd want the complete set (herd) of plastic deer, and the large plastic canadian geese, better yet, the concrete pair of geese that you actually buy clothes for so you can dress them to celebrate the seasons and holidays

Re: why would someone do this to me?
Ahhh....the concrete geese...there are so many of them in my neighborhood that I've actually thought about waiting until the middle of then night and going around and changing all they're clothes. You go to sleep and your little goose is wearing a raincoat. You wake up and its in a little dress. I wonder if they'd even notice?

Around my 'hood' we had a travlin' pig. He some how moved from house to house in the middle of the night and always had new outfits. He ended up in my yard sitting it a figgin LazyBoy recliner!

That would just be too funny. I hope someone around here gets one of those little pigs.

I'd bring him over but he vanished into the night not to be seen again! Now we have a 6 foot wooden Santa dressed in various outfits making the rounds. Last outfit he looked like a Greek God ready for the Olympics. I think the 'Mens Club' has way to much time on their hands!

Re: why would someone do this to me?
Similiar to travelling pig is a garden gnome from my mates village was kidnapped. The kidnappers, probably college students, held the gnome to ransom and sent pictures of the gnome in front of national monuments. After two weeks and no pay, the owners received a severed fishing rod with final demand. unfortunately cops didn't take it serious

someone around here , took something from a persons yard, dont remember what , it was a few years ago. it was in the paper. they sent pics of it in diff places all over the US , to the owners. then in the fall , it was back in the yard again. So they werent thieves they did bring it back.
