Whats the first thing that attracts u to someone? The very first thing u notice?
Once you get to know someone what kind of things keep the attraction going?

Re: Attraction
For me, it is the true self that is so attracting, not just the looks, but the whole package. Take my wife for instance, she is a little over weight, but she is a VERY BEAUTIFUL woman both inside and out. I would never trade her for the barbie doll, or the trophy. To me there is so much that is fake about them.

Re: Attraction
I'm gonna be realistic here and say the "eyes." Their personality is not the first thing I notice because the first thing ANYONE notices is the outside.... BEFORE you get to know them.
And no, I'm not shallow.... you asked "what is the FIRST thing you NOTICE." I'll stick with the eyes.

Re: Attraction
For me....it's plain old fashion "good manners"!
I think that says a whole lot about a person very quickly!

yes, i agree Moon ---the eyes have it! 'cause if they're crossed, cocked in different directions or two different colors, I don't look any further.

I'm an eyes person too...but I must admit I like a strong jawline on a man...
Back when I was younger and doing the party thing I loved a in a good pair of Wranglers (little W's we used to call them) and a starched shirt...that was always a good conversation starter...LOL..."would you mind if I popped (the starch on) your pocket?"

That's good to know because I have more than my fair share of attitude...more confident in myself than in my looks...

A hot attitude, and a sinister, devious glance, can REALLY do it...but, then.........I like trouble.

Really, I thought it was just girls that like bad boys...for me, after the initial physical reaction to someone the best way to get to me is through my mind...

I'm an eyes person. First thing I look at on person is their eyes. Eyes can say so much about a person. Then I look at their smile.

Re: Attraction
A man is visually oriented so the initial moments are focused on physical attributes (and women look too if they are honest about it) but that can fade rapidly if the MOS is not honest and respectful about themselves and towards others. An attractive person has qualities that will overcome any deficiencies on the physical side and make them very attractive to others. Empathy is very important....caring about others shows an inner beauty that shines through in a very short period of time. Most of us can sense a persons real orientation and our own so called gut instinct is this same empathy towards others. Attraction is a complex process but I do agree on the comments about the eyes. The cliche about the "window to the soul" is so true. It does seem to reflect thought processes in a way that is easy to read. I don't even claim to have all the answers but this is a very powerful force in human relations.

Re: Attraction
Hey guys
I could be in a crowded place and the first the first thing i notice is the way he is looking at me. Does he hold my gaze?
Its the way he looks at you. A cute smile is nice. Being a gentleman, offering to buy me a drink. The way he looks straight into your eyes when he talks to you. When you know he is attracted to you but he is not drooling and staring at your breasts!!!
The way he carries himself. Confident but not arrogant. Being friendly and easy to talk to is nice. Also the way he dresses. I remeber a guy who was dressed quite casually with jeans and a white shirt and just a few of his top buttons were open - wow.
Some guys just ozze sex appeal without even trying. Some try too hard which is off putting. But then you can get a guy who might not be an oil painting but is confident and can make a girl feel special. He has a way with words, has style, confidence and all the above. Thats sexy!!!
And sometimes attraction hits you when u least expect it. Sexual chemistry is lethal. When i was younger i always had an ideal picture in my head of a guy - but you end up feeling attracted towards someone who dosent meet that picture. Thats nice.
Gosh i am going on and on arent i - lol

Re: Attraction
Before you meet someone all you have is what they look like - and not just the pieces, but how they carry themselves and how they respond to others. I have watched men demean waiters, laugh at women as they walk by and basically treat others with scorn. Those men turn me off and I don't look back. On the other hand, a man with clean clothes, who takes pride in his appearance... a man who reaches down to help someone pick something up... I will look again, and when the eyes meet. Wow! I can tell you I have had that wonderful heart stopping moment when I walked down the hallway, met the eyes of a man I hadn't physically seen for over 20 years. My heart stopped and then raced and attraction was so hot I am surprised we weren't kicked out of the airport.

Re: Attraction
Wow - 40something
Now thats the kind of attraction i'm talking about.
Your right you know u could get a handsome hunk who looks at other people like they are crap and thats really off putting. But a guy who is helpful, happy, cute , pleasant to others is really attractive. Its not always about how they look is it.
So what do the guys think about this???

Re: Attraction
It's all how you present yourself to the other individual...what is attractive to one maybe not attractive to another..but if you come across as a real person you tend to be more attractive to someone..maybe

Re: Attraction
Kareena men will always stare at breasts...the trick is not to get caught doing it! Women stare at men's butts too.....but a gentleman doesn't choose to notice. I agree with the comments about anyone who belittles or disrespects others...it "kills" any attraction that you might have started to feel. And most importantly attraction should always be a surprise to both parties...it is so much sweeter that way. 40something your story was 20 years in the making...it had to be really intense! I am very happy for you two, that is rare, treasure that intense feeling. I hope it lasts forever!
