Mami??
What is and where does the term "Mami" come from?
I can usually pick up internet slang terms with just a little google or wikipedia...
I know "emo" means emotional...and usually refers to a goth type person, and I'm current with allot of other slang terms....but what is a "mami"?

The old song was sung by, "Al Jolson". "Mami" refers to a distinguished woman...Up here now a days it refers to a woman with exceptionally large breasts ...

Re: Mami??
according to Urbandictionary
A (usually young) woman with wide hips or big breasts and a youthful face, dressed in a sexy or revealing manner (probably dressed a little too old for her age).
Like many Spanish slang terms, the word "mami" is used mainly for dramatic effect, and sounds inappropriate if it's overused.
It's also supposed to have originated from the Hispanic culture.

Re: Mami??
I'm leaning towards the hispanic thing...When I'v seen the term used online, it seems to refer to women of a fairly young age...
The older term that we most think of...ls spelled "mammy"

Re: Mami??
OH I know that!
I've wondered every time I've seen the word mami, if it's an adaption of another word, or maybe an acronym like milf ,

Re: Mami??
The older part is just referring to how they dress for their age, not being older themselves. Like teenagers wearing elegant dresses.
