Mythbusters
I love the show Mythbusters, on Discovery channel, what I want to know is, if you watch it, is there a myth that you would like to see done that hasn't been?

Re: Mythbusters
I do love the show! I did kinda liked it better at the start when it was just Adam and Jamie...without the present added crew..
I have missed way too many episodes though, to know all the myths they have covered.

I do not know if they do that or not. Is there a particular Myth that you are interested in Pepper?

Re: Mythbusters
they take urban myths, hollywood myths, ect and prove if they are true or not.
For instance, I KNOW you've heard the 'Pop rocks' myth, if you eat pop rocks and drink soda your stomach will explode. They busted it, by mixing those ingredients in a pigs stomach (not a live one, lol, just the stomach). Nothing happened. Myth Busted.

Get it?
Adam and Jamie are a lot of fun to watch.

Re: Mythbusters
They busted the myth the other night about the trucker that kept stopping before bridges and banging on the trailor he was pulling. The myth says that, after 3 or 4 times of doing this, a man followed him to a gas station and asked why he kept stopping and banging on his trailor. The man said that he was hauling birds and he would bang on the trailor to get them to fly.... therefore making it lighter because his load was too heavy for the weight limit. It was totaly busted!

It is an awesome show! There's a new one coming on tonight, as a matter of fact. I think it's funny that a couple of the other "myth busters" names are Cary and Grant...

Adam and Jamie have over 20 or 30 years experience (can't remember which it is) in special effects. I love when they tested the old "piece of straw through a palm tree in a hurricane" myth. Very inventive with the air pressure shooter

Re: Mythbusters
I watch the show occasionally and always find it interesting. I just saw the one about airline seats.

Agree, I liked it better when it was just the two of them.

Go to their web site. They have the myths and the answers.
Also, there is a place to request a myth to be exposed.

Re: Mythbusters
Did you see the one last night about fecal spores on a toothbrush??!! They didn't bust that one. They even appeared on tooth brushes that were kept under a jar on the kitchen counter! "Poop is in the air, everywhere I look around."

Not enough to harm a person or worry about, though... that's what the scientist who ran the tests said.

Re: Mythbusters
I just started watching this show in the last couple of weeks (I need a job :'( ) and I have to say that I'm impressed. They try to implement the scientific method as much as possible, but I love the times when they just play it by ear, their mistakes can be so funny!

I'm thinking about downloading all of their episodes so I know what myths they've done so I can suggest a few of them.

Re: Mythbusters
I love it when a myth having to do with explosives is busted. They can't help themselves, they have to go all out in the end and blow the hell out of something!

They also love to blow things up. Oh the twisted minds of a couple of Special Effects guys! It's a great show that usually puts Buster through absolute hell, for a good cause of course.

They did a show on ninjas last night. You would've loved it! They tried the old "catching the swinging sword between your hands" myth. I didn't get to see it, though. Our satellite was going out because of the rain

Did you see the one where Jamie shot a bunch of guns into a pool at like a 45 degree angle, to test the theory that even a few feet of water can stop/slow a bullet? If I remember correctly it did!

It even stopped that HUGE high caliber monster, to some extent. Very interesting indeed!

Re: Mythbusters
They confirmed all three experiments last night on a new episode. A large "gater" from a shredded tire can take a persons head off if it comes through your window when you're traveling at 40 mph or more The "Knight Rider" entrance up the ramp and into the rig can be done. And last but not least, riding the ass of a rig will save gas.... interesting thing, though. They did find that the closer you are the more you save.. but! when you're about 2 feet away, you don't save as much. They said it's from constantly giving it gas and letting off to stay within 2 feet.

Pretty interesting stuff!
