History Freaks??? Help!!
WWII history
I'm trying to google up something, but can't think of the right keywords to use...
It was the "somethingorother project" with Einstein's work on the space time continuum and experiments in time travel.
I thought it was called the Manhattan Project, but that project seems to just be about the development of the Atom bomb...

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
I had only heard of it some years ago, are there any good documentaries or books on this that you would recommend? I would really like to learn more, any titles that you know of that I could find?
I'm such a military history freak!

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
Just like anything else involving the govt you'll have to weed through the "smoke and mirrors" to find anything worthwhile,i.e. Area 51, Project Blue Book, MIB, Roswell Incident. There is plenty out there to read and are numerous documentaries to watch.

Go to Amazon and type in some keywords, chazzy. Either that or try the Library of Congress... there's a link where you can "ask a librarian." Good luck!

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
You talk about govt. smoke and mirrors, how about the JFK assassination? Talk about your conspiracy? I usually don't give conspiracy theories much credence but after watching the movie "JFK" about 20 times and after separating the valid points from the obvious dramatic license that the writer and director took with it's production, I am not sure of anything!! Could OSWALD have done that all by himself???????????
Watch "JFK" and tell me what you think!!!

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
I saw on the news recently that there's a woman that had an old picture of the moment he was shot.... supposedly showed the infamous "man on the grassy knoll."

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
There's a gazillion conspiracy theories out there, I don't have or ever will have all the facts and knowledge to accept them or discredit them,...so...I can just be interested in the stories and legends, movies and books.

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
Hey Chazzy, get this.
Last summer I attended a convention and decided to spend my lunch listening to some scientists discuss something like "Defending planet Earth from Travelers".
Come to find out, there were two scientist who spoke. One on UFOs and the other on travelers and why there was a period of lots of reports (UFOs)but not so many now.
AND, this was a Dept. of Defense study (why I attended, seemed more legit).
It went back to one of the scientists from the Manhattan Proj. (Enrique Fermi) who came up with an answer - now known as Fermi's Paradox.
This sponsored govt. research last decade updated Fermi's model and applied other things to come up with an answer. Their answer was something called the Drake Equation which used a Predator Prey model from Lanchester Law (1914).
One of the main guys from this study wrote a book. I'll send you an email to his site once I find it. I can't remember the title of his book right now.

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
Thank you ptr! And you gave me some more good keywords to use when I have some leisure reading time!
Also...geez, I hope my post before this didn't come off as all uppitty snippy, wasn't my intent, I just try to steer things away from big "G" cuz that often leads to who's adminstration was in the big "G" and donkey vs elephant type of stuff....forgive me!!

Yes , the philly experiment is what you're thinking of, a very daring experiment that didn't get the results they were hoping for, but it did prove it did have possibilities. If you want some good books, or cd's, you can order them from the History channel.

I'm definitely more interested in the physics side of this story than I am in the conspiracy side of it.....although I do find conspiracy theories extremely interesting too... but I'm not only a military history freak, I'm a real freak for Einstein and Tesla stuff too!!

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
Hey Chazzy, I just sent you a link.
The book is titled: An Introduction to Planetary Defense: A Study of Modern Warfare Applied to Extra Terrestrial Invasion.
Damn, I hate those long titles.
Why not, "How ET Will Kick Our Butts"
something simple like that.

Re: History Freaks??? Help!!
That movie, if what happened it it is anywhere near what really happened...well, it was a great movie, if a little scary
. I have seen a little of the documentaries concerning it, but now you've piqued my interest, so I think I'll go looking again
Thanks, Chazzy!
