Massacre At Virginia Tech
Why does it all ways have to end this way?the senseless killing of innocent kids, some one gets mad at a person then takes it out on others that have nothing in it! why can't people just talk it out and get back togather or go their separate ways instead of getting pissed and start hurting or killing others,it's a terrible thing that happened,my thoughts and prayers are for the friends and family of all the people hurt or killed, may god bless you all.

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
Ya'all....we've got a running theme of "mental health" here...
Insanity...ya can't reason with it, ya can't make laws against it...
All we can do is pick it apart, study it, try to understand it and hopefully that'll help somehow to "see it coming" and prevent other incidents...
What does concern me right now....this concept of "copy cat" crimes.

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
All this is amounts to is that people like this, want to commit suicide but maybe don't have the nerve to do it themselves, so they'll have law enforcement do it for them. While they're at it, why not spread a little misery around while they're there. You know, misery loves company.....

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
that's my concern too chaz. that's all we need is some terrorist groups to hit all of our colleges that house our cream of the crop citizens. these kids had their whole lives ahead of them with tons to offer . such a loss. i can't begin to understand what would set someone off in that direction of cold hearted mass murder like that. i can't even kill a bug.

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
this was just too horrible to even think about for long, imagine having a kid in school there and not knowing for hours AFTER the story hit tv if your child was among the dead. i would go stark, staring insane......

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
I would have been on my way there as soon as I heard about the first shooting that morning.
To know your child is there and that you have to wait for information? I could not do it. Better to occupy my mind with a drive than to just sit, watch TV and worry.
My heart goes out to them, parents, families, teachers and friends and they are in my prayers.

Yep....we do have two threads on the VT massacre, nothing wrong with that at all...this thread is more about the humanity side of it, the other is more about gun control side of it...

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
today they were talking about the rescue people that were carrying the bodies out hearing the students phones ringing with parents trying to contact them. . .
It is just to difficult for me to even try to imagine the pain those families are going through. I glue myself to the tv for information and can't tear myself away but then I have to because it makes me so sad. We all just want our kids and loved ones safe. We can not control or predict these senseless things.

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
My heart goes out to the families and friends of those who died and those wounded and recovering. We will likely never know why this man did what he did. This has happened in Canada too and we have a gun law. Gun laws do nothing to stop this sort of thing. If a person wants to get a gun and use it no gun law will prevent it.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to all those involved. I can't imagine having to respond to that situation. No amount of training could prepare you for this.

I not only feel for the families of the dead, but Cho's family, ...they tell us his family are just good hardworking people...good people, I can't imagine how devastated to know their own son is responsible for all those deaths of innocents..
The whole thing is just surreal...

Were CHO's family even aware he had a freakin' problem? Didn't he live with his parents?

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
I thought he lived in a dorm? It'll take a while for all the details on this to become clear.

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
He was in a dorm near the one where he killed the first two people according to PMSNBC. The bizarre "twist" was his mailing of his multi-media "manifesto" to NBC News so he could speak from the grave because he fully intended to die. NBC appeared to have edited it heavily but they aired it anyway. I question why they would do this prior to completion of the law enforcement analysis of all of this and the sensitivities of parents and friends of the unfortunate students. I haven't looked but I bet the whole thing will be on the internet soon if it isn't already. Why torture his parents and all of us with too much reality too soon in the name of ratings? I realize this is the most horrendous event we have experienced in quite a while but enough is enough! This is like people driving by a bad car wreck slowly to look if there is anybody dead there.....macabre!

Re: Massacre At Virginia Tech
I'd still like to know how this POS was able to go to the post office and mail those tapes to the cops between the first and second shootings.... if, in fact, that's what he did.. the cops believe it's a possibility.

I heard on the radio today his great aunt said that when they came to the US she noticed that he was really quiet and his parents told her he was autistic.
