How Much????
My people (tax preparer) called me on friday to inform me that I am getting a $10,450 federal tax refund this year. Normally, I would be jumping up and down with joy. Not this year though! That refund will automatically go towards satisfying a tax bill I had amassed from 2005. I should be happy knowing I've reduced my debt I had amassed to the federal government but I'm a little disappointed. With that refund, I could have done some things to the house, maybe gone on a small vacation, perhaps a new 3 pack of underwear, a new toothbrush, some deodorant, ect, ect.
Can you make me feel a little better about this?

At least it will reduce the other debt, so eventually the money you save on paying that 2005 debt, you can spend on you!!!

No tax refunds here either...even with daycare!!! What do refund checks look like anyway?
Routinely to the tune of the 7 Dwarfs I sing...
Hi Ho, Hi Ho...off to work I go
Cause if I don't the taxman I will owe...
Just think VB, once Uncle Sam gets his paws out of your pockets you'll be able to take a good long ride on the spend all of that refund express and not have to worry about making monthly payments to him...

J, all the refund is, is an overpayment. I try to tell my wife to change the deduction but she'd rather pay more each pay period and get the refund. She says it's like a POLISH savings account.

Yes, but if she had the money put into a savings account every year she would earn alot more polish money...

money...it's the root of all evil, so why worry about it..
hell, i'd do what i do for next to nuthin' but don't tell my employer about that!! ha!
sound advice coming from someone whose family lines have accounting and taxes in it for 50+ years...
