Re: Winter
Winter is nice if your under 40 at least for me it was, putting on all the heavy cloths, chopping holes through the ice, taking the kids to the tobogin run, snow mobiling, chasing bambi's perents through the woods, skiing, ice skating, but now it seems as though all I do in the cold months is race from the heated house, to the heated car, to the heated mall and hope I dont slid off the road getting there, at this time in my life I enjoy warm weather and watching the women in shorts and flimsy tops.

I lived in Az for 2 yrs and that is so true. I've been back in the east for 5 yrs now and I'm just now getting use to the cold.

we do that in the winter, too.
in the summer we use a device known as an "air conditioner", then snuggling is good.

Re: Winter
catch pnuemonia & die, get trapped in an avalache & die, fall through the ice while ice skating & die, get shot in the head by a crazed hunter & die, get lost in the woods and be eaten by a grizzly bear.
not to mention, drive your snowmobile all over a farmer's winter wheat field, and then he comes out and beats you with a blunt instrument. you don't die, but end up with major brain injuries. then spend the rest of your life wearing a bib and watching re-runs of "the brady bunch".
lots of fun if you think about it! i guess i have the wrong attitude.

Re: Winter
i am dreading this winter. all the snowbirds will be coming here, instead of florida.
just imagine-1/2 gizzilion elderly, driving around using 47 different sets of traffic rules. they all drive these big tanks. all you can see is a bit of white hair, and ten boney fingers.
i am not driving anywhere this winter.

To break the monotony you may see bits of blue or pink hair too.

Re: Winter
as long as they are not driving, i like old folks. they ususaly have picked up some interesting information through the years.
and you can learn a lot from them. for instance, i knew one lady who had run her own "house" in denver.
she had some VERY interesting stories to relate. and knew more dirty jokes than anybody i ever met.
she was fun.
she moved here to get out of the snow!

All right!! Winter is coming which means more laundry to do, can't run around naked unless I get a roaring fire going and turn the heat up! I've been splitting wood this week. Got to be prepared and make the best of it. Maybe I should move to the desert for the winter. Have any room bawbie?

Hibernate? No way! Let's go outside and shovel the walk, and salt the driveway, go out for a drive, do some fishtailin' and doughnuts in the empty parking lots, pick up some peppermint schnapps while were out, ( have a few hoots right off the bottle on the way home) make a few snow angels, and toss a few snowballs before going back inside to take off anything wet and cold, and put on some warm and dry, brew a fresh pot of coffee to go with the schnapps, turn up the heat, and the stereo (by now, I'm probably getting very annoying, all giggly and buzzed from the schnapps)and enjoy a completely spontaneous nite !
