Is there no one Else........
I am watching NASCAR with my wife on FOX. I am trying to get excited at this stuff but......
I can understand her crushing on #24. I don't have a problem with that. My main beef with watching this is, can't FOX find any other color guy than WALTRIP? What language does this guy speak, shitkicker? Man, he's awfully tough to listen to. I cannot believe that network thinks this guy will help win over the non-fan to take NASCAR to heart! I mean, the NASCAR marketing people wonder why they can't break in to all the markets. Come on!!!!!! I know that that association has made great strides in recruiting the smartest minds into their fold. The problem I feel is WALTRIP doesn't come off as the "mouth" of the future. He sounds too hick. There has got to be someone that sounds like he made it out of the 5th grade, available to do color with knowledge of the sport and the drivers.
I'm very sorry if I stomped on sacred ground here but I'm one of those non-fans that just might become one with a television broadcast team, sans WALTRIP, at least on FOX!!!
Come on, let me have it.......

OK...  Actually, bill, I like Waltrip and miss him a lot when NASCAR moves to NBC, the commentary isn't as colorful. Hell, Darrell sounds like a hillbilly, guess that don't bother me, cos I'm one too.
As for crushing on #24, well, I do that too, been a longtime fan, now, my horizon's have expanded over the years, honestly, don't care a lot for Tony (#20) but have really grown to like Jr, lately, he seems to have grown up a lot and is not such a  anymore, but JG will always be my first pick.

Actually, there has been quite a few good color people for Nascar. I personnally like Allan (I believe Bestrick) and Benny Parsons when he was there. It varies with each network.

i agree Pepper...i've come to like Jr lately too..but I'm a #24 guy!!! i dont' always listen to NASCAR...sound off but picture on...but usually enjoy the commentary when i do...its good education...more than just play by play so to speak..
