C.O.T.
nascars car of tomorrow.
I can imagine the other drivers if Dale Earnhart was still alive.
"Oh, that's what we need. Dale with a wider car!"

Re: C.O.T.
I'm curious, can you explain more about this? I'm not a nascar fan so it all seems a little vague to me, I'd like to know more about it!

Re: C.O.T.
Basically what Nascar did was to change the aerodynamics of the car. They made it wider and a bit taller.
They also added some more safety to the car. One thing they did was to add foam inbetween the drivers door rollcage and the outer body. This will help absorb impact there by helping protect the driver.
They are also not as dependent on aerodynamics for handling.

Re: C.O.T.
My wife is a JEFF GORDON fan of the highest order. I once told her that the reason he finished so poorly in one of the races was because the block fell of his accelerator pedal (he's got vertically challenged issues). She immediately proceeded to "kick me in the junk" for that un-funny remark.
You know, since that fateful day, I have not repeated that off-hand remark in her presence, but I can now hit those high notes while singing in the shower.

Re: C.O.T.
Well cool! I may have missed something about this during the airing of the Discovery Channel's "Future Cars"
I'm sure Pepper being the ultimate nascar fan (well...Pepper's the ultimate anything)
will know all about it!

Re: C.O.T.
I'm not sure if thi was on Discovery channel or not. Nascar is very self-centered and is really only concerned with it's own wallet.
The main reason for the change in my opinion is that these races have had falling attendence for over 5 years.
