Heebie Geebies...
Ya know what the "heebie geebies" are right? Those simple little things in life that make you shudder and cringe...the most common one I suppose is the ole fingernail scraping on a chalkboard, or maybe it's the sight of blood.
For me personally, is a stiff bristle broom on wet concrete. I was reminded of this quirk of mine while sweeping and cleaning my front porch earler, so now I'm prompted to ask ya'all, what gives you the heebie geebies?

I've never had any kind of bug make me shudder like the one I saw the other night. It was in my bathroom! It had 2" long antennae, at least! I have no idea what it was... I just wanted it the fuck out of my house!!! Nasty lookin' little bastard!
Other than that, JUNE BUGS!! I blame my brothers for that. They used to throw them on me when I was younger... now I'm terified of 'em!

QUOTE (Chazzy @ March 29, 2007, 14:44)Someone's very detailed description of their recent surgery can give me a case of heebie geebies.
CHAZZY, I had polyps removed from my nasal passage. They had to go up in the passage right next to the frontal lobe of my brain and grind the polyps down to the bone. I had to be put to sleep for this procedure (no sh*t). I also had to sign a waiver, beforehand, in case the surgery injured my brain because of the chance my brain got nicked. I might have bled to death if that happened. The procedure, performed in a day surgery ward, started at 8:30 am and I was home by 12:30pm with my nose full of packing!
Does this meet your standard for the heebie geebies?

How about a colonoscopy? I'm talkin' 7ft of optical hose shoved up the old back door, followed by a grand tour of your insides? Well I had that done last June. I'm good to go for ten years! It was so uneventful (unconscious) that if I had to do it again, I'd do it today! Hey, wtf, your out of it so no problem. The prep for the test was not pleasant (bowel cleansing) but all in all, no big deal. It's a good feeling when the doc says I don't have to worry about colon cancer for at least ten years (my next colonoscopy).
......sorry, I couldn't help myself

Hey CHAZZY, wtf is an episiotomy? Sounds like something for the doc to say "open wide"!!!!!

Re: Heebie Geebies...
An episiotomy is what doctor's sometimes do to the vaginal area to help the delivery of a baby. They snip the area of the vagina between the opening and the rectum (perinium) to help with delivery. You've heard the term "Take another stitch for me doctor," that refers to when the doctor stitches the woman up after birth. Fortunately episiotomies are very rare nowadays. I had one with my oldest (21) and not with my two little ones...thank goodness. The episiotomy in my opinion was the worst part of recovering from childbirth. Now they stretch your perinium out with...of all things...olive oil before the baby is born.

Hey J, remind me to tell my obstetrician not to snip me when I give birth.
No freakin' way a man could ever survive giving birth. I bow down to you ladies.

I have no doubt that is probably true VB...I wouldn't trade getting to feel my children move inside me for the little discomfort of childbirth (there are great medications to help with the pain!!!). My children are incredibly loving and make all the hard stuff worthwhile...you really do forget it, especially when your little one runs up to you in the middle of playing and says, "Mom, I love you..."
