Silly but...........
As a man, you know you've been married for a while when you're at the mall shopping with your wife and she says to you "please hold my pocketbook while I shop". You do it and think nothing of it. That's what I been doing for the last 100 years or so. My wife will hand me her pocketbook (it's freakin' huge), I'll carry it and follow her all around MACY'S while she shops and I mean this girl can power shop!! I don't care if anybody notices or not because I'm a kept man.....and proud of it!!!
Are any of you whipped guys called upon to perform this emasculating duty? Do you feel the least bit " gay " or do you kinda like the liberating feeling that carrying a pocketbook gives you? Would you like to have one of your own?
Come on, you sissy marys, tell the truth!!

Re: Silly but...........
NO harm in a man carrying his wife's handbag, anytime my husband and I spend the day out, half the crap in my purse is his, stuff he he doesn't want to carry in his pockets, stuff I know we'll both need, or want, etc..
When I was single, my handbags were much, much smaller!

My hubsand used to always carry my shopping bags, and there always were a few!!! I never carry a handbag, so no-one needs carry that for me.
It is a gentleman who carries his wifes/girlfriends bag for her while she shops, good on ya VB

I always carry her pocketbook by the body of the bag and never by the strap. I haven't quite lost my pair yet!!

Re: Silly but...........
Hell yes I carry Ma's purse, handbag or what ever. Like I really care what anyone thinks. I even been known to throw the strap over my shoulder and walk around with it hanging by my side. I'm only helping out. When she goes to try something on in the dressing room, I'll have a arm full of her stuff that she doesn't need to carry in to try something on. I'd do that and have done it even for a woman I wasn't married to. It's whats a gentlemen does.

Re: Silly but...........
Now that's what a REAL man is....a man not concerned with portraying some macho manly man image, but a real man is a man who's main concern is being a splendid companion to his woman.

WoooH young man . This thread is meant in jest. I've been carrying my wife's stuff around for thirty some years now. The part about me feeling effeminate about carrying her pocketbook, was an attempt at levity at my expense.
So when and if you get yourself a girlfriend, let me know. We'll compare notes. Until then, loosen up a bit. I am a very self effacing guy so I will never pick on anyone here. I like it here!

Re: Silly but...........
Hell yea, I hold my wifes hand bag, or whatever she needs me to hold. I even hold things for her to try on, just waiting to go into the dressing room with her. Never know what happens in those dressing rooms. What happens there stays there............

Oh yeh, been there. I will go and get different sizes for her to try on while she's in the fitting room. While waiting in the fitting area, I've caught me some interesting views of some of the other customers (women), some hot and some NOT so hot! I caught some very nice bathing suit peeks.

I do like what mooant said, sums it up very nicely and I saw his post as more of a general feeling about the topic, like my post and not aimed at you personally.

Re: Silly but...........
As for mooant getting' a girlfriend remark....mooant posted last week about his upcoming and troubling divorce..when he gets through that ordeal, I'm sure he will get himself a girlfriend or two, or more!
I'm so sure he'll have lots of opportunities to carry many a ladies handbag for them!

Re: Silly but...........
Hey MOOANT, sorry for the stupid remark I made about a girlfriend. I took your remark a little too personal and I got carried away. I realize that your aim was just a general one and not aimed at me or anyone else. I was trying to be funny when I unintentionally struck a nerve.
I do not care what others think of me while I carry my wife's pocketbook for her. It's just so damn heavy!

Well said Chazzy! Mooant is a very handsome and intelligent young man , the girls will be around him
like moths to a flame!! When this difficult time is over for him and his life is back on track i hope he finds fun and happiness again.
to you Mooant.
Ok now back to topic. ...No...my hubby would refuse to hold
my handbag, a grocery bag, yep....but anything that resembled a 'girlie' bag...nope!!.....Not a problem though, as i do travel light. ..and do prefer to spend his money, so no purse needed either...
Maybe its a macho image thing over here (or so they think!)...

Re: Silly but...........
My husband holds my purse if need be but I rarely ask him to because I really, really like the bags I buy and don't often want to part with them...shoes and purses...oh, and did I mention clothes...LOL...oh, and back to the subject, my husband carries the shopping bags and entertains the short people.
