Coloring your world
How do you choose what colors you surround yourself with?
Do you choose favorite colors, or colors that give you a mood or feeling for your walls at home?
Do you select what you'll wear by a mood?
Do you use color or do you put "easy to maintain" first as a prioty of your choices, cuz beige walls make it easy to furnish and decorate, a black car or truck is easier to keep clean, etc...

Re: Coloring your world
I generally pick whatever i like at the time. I like neutral warm colours for the home and it is usually black for my cars, as they always look better in black.
I like black in clothes and in my job, that generally represents my mood!!!

Are walls have been a neutral color at the business we had. At home we had every wall a blue it was bright and soft. we do alot of Blue as we both like that color. as for cars what ever we find not very fussy there

Re: Coloring your world
If I dress casual I'm usually in light colors with jeans. Dressed up would be colors best described as Loud Colors, very bright or very light. sometimes all black. Home I have a lot of blue, cars, white or blue.

Re: Coloring your world
My walls at home are bold... ...my kitchen and dining room are barn red. One bathroom is white with a splash of mango...beige doesn't really exist here...I have a lively, vibrant family and the colors in our home represents who we are. My home is a mix of antiques and modern furniture. I'm about to redo my bedroom and I'm thinking of a color palette of silvery blue and taupe...the calmest colors in my house but I'm trying to create a sanctuary...calming colors that will quiet my soul as I try to relax!!!

Re: Coloring your world
I have a lot of color in my home - I don't care for white walls. I love a warm yellow paired with cobalt blue or burgandy. Some shade of purple in the bedroom. I just like to experiment and have fun and color allows me to express myself.

Re: Coloring your world
My husband had worked in building maintanience quite some time ago, and has 10 gallons of this off white interior paint.
I can't use any other color till this paint is gone!
I can only dream, fantasize and mentally explore the possibity of color in this house till then!
(Right now, I can only introduce colors with slipcovers, pillows, drapes)

Can't you buy a small tin of coloured paint, and sneakily mix it into some of the off white!!!

Re: Coloring your world
I wish...he's so stuffy, he just likes this off white paint.
I'll have to do what I've done when I was married before, wait till he goes off to work and is gonna be gone all day, then redo a room.
Trying to present my ideas to them before hand, gets them shot down, but when they come home to the new room, they love it!

Re: Coloring your world
Guess I'm kind of a colorful person. Every room in my house is a different color. lol Don't change the colors too often. But do change the things in rooms.

Re: Coloring your world
Ya know...when I see a shiny cute little sporty type car whizzing by on the highway past my house, I'm thinking..."yep, bright and vibrant red is the right color choice there!"

Re: Coloring your world
for me..each room in the house has its own theme..so there are different colors..some bold like the living room and some soothing like the bathrooms...i like the look and feel of different colors which ultimately relfect a mood for each room...intensely warm in the living room...to joyous and bright in the bathroom..yet in a soft hue...so i can get the hell up in the morning while its still dark outside.
