How high is your fever?
For most of us, it's time to break the cabin fever, and fall victim to spring fever..
What's the first thing, or some of the things that the first few glorious spring day spur you to do?
Leisure stuff, like walking, hiking, riding...or work stuff, like yard work, spring cleaning?

Re: How high is your fever?
my fever is very high right now. i cant wait to go to my favorite camping spot, pitch my tent, and spend the day fishing! as the sun starts down, i will fix a nice meal,(probably a nice thick steak), some veggies, and go to sleep to the soothing sounds of a spring evening!

My energy level goes up, and it's good to be able to take my horse for a gallop across the fields.

Re: How high is your fever?
I love to get out in the yard and start to "spring" clean!....Now that I'm in a new home I have lots to do!......The last people left shit all over!.....However, I don't mind doing the work, keeps me busy, and takes my mind off things!.....I do love to plant and garden......I actually went to the old house yesterday and dug up some of my plants and trees as well as took up all my slate so I can put it around the new house....I look forward for all the snow to be gone, so I can truly see what I have to work with!......
I actually had a women stop buy my house yesterday and ask me if I was a decorator by trade.....I told her no, I just enjoy doing it!....I live in a house that is considered historical by the town...over 200 years old....and all the stuff I have goes along great with the house!.......Most of my stuff came from my mother and its all antiques....So I have the saw blade on the outside of my house with a whole bunch of other things....

Maybe it's a woman thing, NYK...that "nesting" thing we do, it's such a buzz, a beautiful high we get, I love it!
I can only hope that men also experience somethng similar and as wonderful as our primal need to nest.
This is the kinda thing I was thinking of when I posted the thread "Sensation of life and living.."

Re: How high is your fever?
I love to "nest" or decorate. I love to make my home beautiful for my family. I find beautiful items in strange places, like little off the road "junk" places. I love to just rummage through...everyone that visits our home is impressed with how adorable the kids rooms are and how my personality comes out in it.
Back to the spring fever thing. I love to throw open our windows in the house during the day and let the "stuffy" out of the house. There is something so wonderful about the spring breeze, it revitalizes you. Here in Texas we have a tree called a Mountain Laurel and the blooms are an incredible purple color and the fragrance is amazing, it is indescribable if someone hasn't smelt it before. I love to roll down my windows in my car, open up the sun roof, and smell the laurels in blossom...that is spring to me.
I've also started the spring cleaning process here at home, it feels good to get the dust out and that feeling of "clean" through the house that you get no other time of the year.

Re: How high is your fever?
This is kinda funny, but i was in the process of building a 3 tier rock garden for my strawberrys, when I was about done my neighbor from across the street yelled over if she could put her shoes on & come look. Before the week was over I had 4 neighbors ask if I'd build them one. ( ok off topic I know, back to scheduled program, I'm ready to tear up dirt for the garden. I always make lots of salsa. The grapes should do well too, so wine,.... should be a good year for that

Re: How high is your fever?
I am soooooo heading to local seasonal nursery today, gotta buy a few plants I know I need, and a whole butt load of impulsive "Ohhhhh those are pretty!" that I'll have no idea what to do with at the time!
Oh yeah...catnip..gotta bring home a bunch of catnip plants, cuz when cats get all hopped up and buzzed, they can be very amusing....(to say the least)

Oh man...my husband, such a moron sometimes, every year I'm telling him the same thing...."yes dear, I do realize that the blooms on that tree are purple, but it's still a Red Bud tree"
