Sensations of life and living....
Ever get those feelings or sensations that there just doesn't seem to be way of describing with words?
Sometimes I'll happen to pop outside late on a clear warm summer night, maybe to take out the trash or something mundane, and a breeze will brush my face and there's this feeling I cannot describe....the breeze, the night noises of crickets, frogs, night birds, and the low moans from the traffic on a distant highway...wanderlust? Nope that's not quite it...I just don't know what it is...
Anything, or anytime give you such sensations that there just doesn't seem to be any vocabulary to describe or sum it up? Do your best to describe anything you can share, even if you think it's bizarre or silly.

Re: Sensation of life and living....
Here's one I'm sure we've all experienced...when you spend time with someone for the first time, there's this "connection" between you, there's this thirst for discovery, and even though the hours flew, and you've been without sleep, you feel so charged, so stimulated and caught in some sort of time warp that you just can hardly bring yourself to exit it.
If there was only one word to describe that phenom!

Re: Sensations of life and living....
Chazzy, what you wrote in your opening post... I attribute that to a loved one that has passed saying hello. Sometimes you can catch their scent ever so lightly in the breeze

Now that definition, Moon...has charm!
It does feel like being whispered a secret or like your being called by someone or something!
(Gawd, the way this thread dropped down like it was loaded with bricks, I was beginning to think I was freakin' weird or something!)

Re: Sensations of life and living....
When i'm walking my dogs through the woods there is a cold breeze on my face, then a warm one hits my face, before it returns to cold. That i can't explain, but happens everytime, never in the same place, i like to think it is someone letting me know they are there.
Chazzy, it's a great post and Moon, nice reply

Re: Sensations of life and living....
Does anyone else feel something rather mystical at 3:00am, or that time when it's not night anymore, and the sun rise is only "suggested"...it's seem almost spiritual to me, this particular time everyday.
Maybe these feelings are what Pink Floyd sang in "Comfortably Numb"...how's that verse go...
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it,
The dream is gone,
The child is gone.
Sometimes these sensations are so brief, and before you get a chance to pinpoint anything....they're gone.

Re: Sensations of life and living....
Slightly off topic but wanted to share it, the past few weeks the birds have still been singing in the trees outside my house at midnight, Laying in bed looking up at a clear sky, the moon and stars and listening to the birds sing, it's amazing.

That happens a lot here, too... My father in law loved nature and the outdoors. I like to think he's here when that happens.
Chazzy, did anything happen in your life around that time?

Re: Sensations of life and living....
Nope, not off topic at all!
I love hearing about the unexpressable feelings. We seem to be haunted by them, but they don't feeling haunting at the time, they are not a feeling of peace, but a little more disturbing than that, and much calmer than euphoria.
Is it something primal that has almost evlolved out of our DNA but remnants remain? Is it something that brain scans, and science will explain someday and kill the romance and mystery of it all?

Does anyone else experience this?
You wake up knowing you had this wonderful dream, but not able to recall any details of it...but all day long, you would get flashes of serenety and beauty from it?

Nope nothing that I can recall....I use to when I was facing something horrible in life or upset, would sit up all night worrying and trying to find a solution to things, but when I would step outside at that time just before sunrise, it all would just dissipate, and I would suddenly be overwhelmed with hope and calm.
