A Prayer for Smitty
Our old friend Smitty, has just sent me a message that his wife suffered a cardiac arrest, is in ICU & isn't doing very well. He sounded pretty blue, & worried. I know he would appreciate any kind words & prayers we can offer him.

It doesn't sound good,, she has been on life support for several weeks, with her health coninuing to fail. Smitty himself has some health issues. The only option is some surgery, with chances of survival minimal.Now the family has to make the difficult decision of shutting down life support or leave it on. I would not want to have to make that choice. Poor guy. Keep him in your prayers.

That is so sad, they may have to make that painful decision, all my thoughts and prayers are with Smitty and his family.

I've been there! No matter how strong you think you are, when it comes to making a decision like that, it's never that easy. To this day, I still feel guilty over my decision about my mother (17 years ago). It was the best for her but I still feel bad about it.

a little update, they took her off sedation, but still unresponsive, he is making funeral arrangements as it looks as though the end is near. I know Smitty could use a kind word or a little prayer for him & his family now. What a great bunch of people here, how can anyone not love all of ya??

A final update. Sad news. Smitty's Wife passed away last nite. I know he could use a kind word. If anyone wants his mailing addy, send me a note, he said was ok to give it to some if you want to send a card

You guys and gals are AWESOME! Things have been very difficult for the last two weeks and all of your thoughts and prayers are very, very appreciated. This is the greatest group of people and you always come through when someone suffers through adversity. I am really touched by this. A profound THANK YOU to everyone.
I know she is in a better place and her suffering has ended. That is my consolation in all of this. Funeral is Monday afternoon. We had 37 wonderful years together and lots of memories, adventures, friendship and love. Life has to go on and all of you have really helped me. I love you all!

Smitty: u r absolutely a truly terrific person...and i wish u all of "life's blessings" to come ur way..as u know there is a time for everything..including life and love...and sadly death...
...in your sorrow and sadness...i do hope that you can draw upon your time together with your wife for the strength to continue your march forward in this life..
