Driving
How's your driving skills? Have you had many accidents, fender benders, many tickets, warnings or such for speeding, running stop signs? Ever lost your license or came close by acquiring too many points?
Do you have a lead foot, or show some level of road rage while driving? Do you multi task allot behind the well, like eating fast food, talking on the phone, putting on make up?

My last ticket (speeding) was when I was 20 y/o. I have been pulled over about 6 times since and for some reason, I have garnered nothing more than warnings for various infractions. Maybe I've been painfully polite, almost EDDIE HASKEL like, and therefore, got the benefit of the doubt.
My wife gets so angry when she gets pulled over because she's gotten about 6 tickets since we've been married (30 years) to my zero! Man is she jealous of my luck!!!!!!!!

Some of our good fortune can be attributed to just that, dumb luck!! I always seem to slow down just before I come upon a waiting police vehicle with speed gun in hand! As far as accidents, I've been very fortunate as to not being involved in any since I was 17. Again with all the vehicles out there and the increased odds of some kind of collision, you'd think my luck would have run out by now.

If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all... I got pulled over the other night for coming to a full stop at a stop sign. The officer said that I must have been up to something, because no one comes to a full stop at a stop sign at that time of night. I got an 85$ ticket, that I intend to fight, for a headlight out that wasn't out, and a gas tank that doesn't leak. So he could smell it, so what. It turened out that the timing in my pick-up was way off and that smell was unburned gases going through the muffler. So even driving perfectly, I can get a ticket...

I don't remember the last time I was even pulled over. I think my last ticket was about 20 years ago. It's been the same for accidents, all though Ma has had a couple accidents, but never any tickets.

Yeh LIZ, I'm sure you wouldn't think of using your extensive womanly charms to avoid an inevitable citation if you were to be pulled over now, right? Hell, as a heterosexual male, all you would have to do is flash me that heart melting smile of yours and I would let you off with just a warning, and of course a kiss!!!
Happy New Year Sweetheart. Get freakin' well, will ya?

Re: Driving
i had the privilege and still do of growing up around LOTS of dirt roads... meaning lots of "play" time behind the wheel. although fooling around behind the wheel might not be the safest it does hone your skills.. never been in an accident other than as a passenger.
i got a ticket for no eye protection on a bike is all.. lucky since i've actually done some idiot things in a car like running from the cops when i got picked off for speeding. thank god i actually got away.. those repercussions could have turned a fresh out of high school kids life a whole different direction.

Re: Driving
iv'e had my share of accidents, the last one was caused by a broken wire on my cruise control brake switch...stepped on the brake and my cruise didn't shut off...started making a turn, took my foot off the brake and the car (96 mustang!) sped back up to 65 m.p.h. in the middle of a turn, lost control ended up in the ditch, not bad enough to total it, but close...
gotten 2 tickets...
one for failure to use turn signal on a lane change...supposedly i passed three cars on the highway without signaling...
the other for speeding...didn't slow down fast enough to be at the proper speed where the limit went from 45 to 35 m.p.h...
been pulled over for other stupid reasons...but never got any tickets...music to loud???...my ass!!!!

Re: Driving
I had one big ticket, triple digit speeding - but they deferred the fine and suspension for a year and that is now over so my record is clean.
I hit a deer and smashed up my truck in November and have had one or two minor smash-ups in the past.
Never my fault of course.

Re: Driving
I have to clarify Ma's accidents. She actually was even in the car when they happened. The car was parked, both times, and someone backed into the car. The last one really sucked. They backed up, hit my car which in turn hit Ma. Lost $1,000's on that one.

Just keep your hand at the bottom of the wheel when your backing up. That way if you want the trailer to go left, rotate the wheel left and of course right is right. If you prefer to keep your hands at the top of the wheel you have to turn it to the left for the trailer to go right and to the right for the trailer to go left.

Re: Driving
awwww! *hug* horse trailer is a trailer for transporting horses, you attatch it and tow it from your car. A horse box is a kinda lorry with the horse bit built in... no dodgy reversing, although there huge!

I do start off ok, but when you have the horse kicking and everyone shouting, left no right no straight back!!! I just leave it where it is

Back to driving... doesn't have much to do with my driving other than the fact that I work 44 miles away from home and just got pulled over recently when my tags had expired in March of 2006. That was about the same time I started my new job, even still I drove around in my hometown and got pulled over by this police officier I knew, luckily. Didn't give me a ticket.
Thats what you get for having

Re: Driving
I drive like a bad outta hell, with a little road rage when people get in the fast lane, and go slower than the slow lane. Or they cant make up their mind where they want to go. I have not had an accident since 1985, but that one makes up for any that I should have had. I hit the windshield, and took 36 stitches to my face. Needless to say, I do wear my seat belt now. The last time I got a speeding ticket was when I had my radar detector, and became to reliant on it. So I through it out the window, and have not gotten one since. Thank goodness
