Yes Virginia.....
When did you learn that there was no Santa Claus? Who or what burst your bubble?
I had a mean older brother that broke the news to me when I was about 5 years old...

Re: Yes Virginia.....
what do you mean there's no Santa??? I still believe!
Seriously, I don't really know, I was an only, so i guess it just kinda seeped into me as I got older, but I still love Christmas and just about everything that comes with it!

Re: Yes Virginia.....
Knowing so young that Santa wasn't real, didn't diminish the magic of Christmas for me really...it just turned my focus off my own Christmas wish list, and allowed me to enjoy the real reasons for the celebration...it was still all magic to me!

Re: Yes Virginia.....
Basically, when I was about 5, I figured it out because I found one of my letters to Santa in my mother's stuff and knew it had not been mailed to the north pole.
It was OK - a disappoinment, but not too much. I got the pony anyway.

Re: Yes Virginia.....
I was 6. Heard some noise from my bedroom and snuck out to get a peek at Santa and it was my dad putting the gifts under the tree that were tagged "from Santa & Rudolph". For some reason, didn't let on that I knew that until I was 8 and just played along with it for those 2 years. To this day my parents thought I was a believer until I was 8 years old.

Re: Yes Virginia.....
I don't remember when I didn't believe...it is like I tell my little ones, the spirit of St. Nick is always in your heart...I love Christmas and until the day that I'm no longer capable will leave cookies and milk out for the jolly old elf...put footprints int the soot in the fireplace and sing Christmas carols from Thanksgiving until Valentines day.

Re: Yes Virginia.....
What is all this talk about no Santa Claus? Has no-one but Juilianna seen the old movie "Miracle on 34th Street"? Keep it up people and Juilianna will need to rent a big Texas-sized warehouse because she'll get EVERYONE"S presents! No Santa, indeed!
oh yeah, "Ho Ho Ho!"

Re: Yes Virginia.....
Don't remember much other than the fact that it wasnt hard to figure out. I mean, you see santa at the mall one day, next thing you know.. theres another one standing someplace not too far and yet you know the first santa you saw couldnt move that fast especially if he's all big, red and jolly like that.
My mom still pulls the 'santa' thing because she'll leave gifts for me at her place saying it was on her door and she didnt know anything about it (think thats her way of still being able to give it to me without my stepdad thinking she bought me more stuff that i dont 'need').

So Tropifun, do you ever think about following in your uncles footsteps and putting a santa's outfit on and giving someone something to unwrap???

Re: Yes Virginia.....
I just went to see the big red suit guy last weekend, and he wouldn't let me sit on his lap?! He said he had to check his insurance policy before he'd let me tell him what I wanted for Christmas...The nerve of this guy...
